Zoey Stark has turned on Nikkita Lyons.
Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retained the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles over Stark and Lyons in tonight’s WWE NXT episode on the USA Network. At one point during the game, Stark almost collided with Lyons due to a misunderstanding. The champions both charged, but Lyons pushed Stark out of the way to save her, and Lyons was then taken out by Chance and Carter with a double superkick. Stark fought off both champions, but Chance countered with the tornado DDT. Chance and Carter then connected their top rope 450 neckbreaker combo finisher, allowing Carter to cover for the pin and win the match.
Following the match, Stark and Lyons brought the title belts into the ring and presented them to Chance and Carter while bowing in respect. Stark swung the title belt at Lyons, knocking her out and shocking the crowd. Stark then charged at Chance and Carter, who retreated to the floor. While her former tag team partner was down, Stark attacked her, then tossed the belt to Chance and Carter. The show ended with Stark standing over Lyons, taunting her.
Fans chanted for Stark as NXT went off the air, despite the turn on fan favorite Lyons.
Stark and Lyons made their NXT debut on September 13th, defeating Arianna Grace and Kiana James. Since then, they’ve defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne on TV, but they fell short against Chance and Carter in a title match two weeks ago. The main event tonight was a rematch from the October 25 show.
There is no word on what will happen next for Stark and Lyons, but a match between the two is expected for NXT Deadline on Saturday, December 10.
