Young Rock Not Featured On NBC’s Fall Schedule

The “Young Rock” series, which follows the life of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, is one of three NBC shows that are currently in danger of not being renewed.

The series features stars like Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, and John Tui. Roman Reigns, his grandparents, his parents Rocky Johnson and Ata Maivia, as well as other family members and several wrestlers are all portrayed by actors in the series.

His journey to becoming a wrestler and joining WWE was covered in the second season, and his journey in the WWE was covered in the third.

Executive producers include Johnson, Nahnatchka Khan (sister of WWE wrestler Nick Khan), Jeff Chiang, Dany Garcia, Jennifer Carreras, Hiram Garcia, and Brian Gewirtz. Universal Television, Seven Bucks Productions, and Fierce Baby Productions are the companies behind the program.

There was no word on whether the show would be renewed for a fourth season when the third season with 13 episodes debuted in November 2022. Prior to being moved to Friday nights for its third season, it aired on Thursday nights, which further decreased TV ratings.

The network recently unveiled its schedule, which excludes American Auto, Grand Crew, and Young Rock and spans the fall and midseason. NBC stated that “decisions are yet to be made” regarding the three shows. With the network scheduling other shows so far in advance, it’s not a good sign that the show hasn’t been renewed.
