During a backstage segment with Adam Pearce in an October episode of WWE Raw, Carlito got involved in a controversial incident. Carlito entered the room as IYO SKY and Kairi Sane were leaving and said, “I gotta learn Chinese.”
According to Fightful, that was an unscripted line, and numerous employees were unhappy about it. The line was edited from the video when it was posted on social media after it aired.
When the show was published on the WWE Network and Peacock this week, the line was also removed. Instead, the show focuses on Adam Pearce as Carlito says the line.
Both IYO and Kairi are Japanese. IYO has faced with racist remarks in the past.
