WWE reached an agreement with Netflix to move its flagship show, Monday Night Raw, from the USA Network to the streaming service starting in January 2025. The first episode will take place on January 6th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
Fans have speculated that WWE may have darker programming on the streaming platform because there are fewer limitations than on cable television. However, this will not be the case.
WWE President Nick Khan told Sports Illustrated on Tuesday that the ratings for WWE’s programming will remain PG.
“We’re not changing the rating of our programming,” Khan said. “There’s some online chatter about, oh, it’s gonna be R rated, or for us old folks, like X rated. That’s definitely not happening. So it’s family friendly, multi-generational, advertiser friendly programming. It’s gonna stay that way. I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship [with Netflix] continues to develop.”
Roman Reigns, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and John Cena are among the wrestlers billed for the event. WWE is expected to pack the show with big personalities and matches for its inaugural episode.
