The road to WWE Bad Blood 2024 continues tonight in “The Beaver State.”
WWE Monday Night Raw returns tonight, September 16, 2024, from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon at 8/7c on the USA Network.
On tap for tonight’s show is CM Punk’s return, Judgment Day (c) vs. New Day for the World Tag Titles, Braun Strowman vs. Bronson Reed, Dominik Mysterio vs. Damian Priest, Natalya vs. Zoey Stark, as well as Sheamus vs. Pete Dunne.

“WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together” kicks things off as always.
CM Punk Kicks Off This Week’s Show
Joe Tessitore welcomes us to the show as we see arrival shots of Superstars getting to the arena. CM Punk’s arrival shot follows him all the way to the ring, where he gets on the mic to kick off this week’s show.
He says in a soft, serious voice, he’s at the point in his career where people ask him how many matches he has left in him. He says he has more than people think. He didn’t come back to WWE to make a mortal enemy, but that’s what he has done with Drew McIntyre.
He brings up Hell in a Cell and says his family asked him not to do it. He says it was the devil inside of him that told him to do this. He says if this is the end, he’s had a great career and that is fine. He is prepared to die, Israel Adesanya-style, at WWE Bad Blood.
Sheamus vs. Pete Dunne
Backstage, Cathy Kelley is standing by with Sheamus after a video package shows highlights of his ongoing rivalry with former friend and partner turned rival. He talks about his issues with Dunne and gets ready to head out for the first match of the evening.
He essentially begs fans to bug Dunne with “Butch” chants. He asks Portland if they’re ready for a banger. His theme hits and out comes “The Celtic Warrior” for our opening contest.
We head to a pre-match commercial break. When we return, Pete Dunne comes out and WWE actually flashes a graphic on the lower third of the screen like a Matt Hardy v1 Matt Fact. It says Pete Dunne does not like to be called Butch.
Cue the “Butch! Butch!” chants. The bell sounds and off we go. Sheamus gets a strong start, but when he goes for the ten beats, Dunne does his finger-bending crap and takes over. We head to a mid-match break.
When we return, we see the match still in progress. We work our way to the finish after Sheamus makes a comeback and does hit his ten beats spot. When he steals the shaleleigh from Dunne, Dunne gets a cricket bat and uses it behind the referee’s back for the win.

Backstage With Jey Uso, Terror Twins & Xavier Woods
Backstage, “Main Event” Jey Uso runs into Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. He tells them he knows Priest doesn’t want help, but because of The Judgment Day, he’s gonna have eyes on his match against Dominik Mysterio tonight. He says he’s got his back.
Up walks Xavier Woods who asks for them to steer clear of his match later tonight against The Judgment Day for the tag-team titles. He wants to handle it himself with Kofi Kingston in the ring. They say they will oblige, but tell him to beat their asses and take them titles. We head to another break.
Natalya vs. Zoey Stark
When we return, we see The Miz approach Braun Strowman backstage. He asks him if he should be competing tonight. Strowman shows a bruise on his arm that Cody Rhodes would be proud of. He also takes issue with something Strowman said last week. All he meant was he’s not a monster.
Back in the arena, Natalya’s theme hits and out she comes for our next match of the evening. Zoey Stark comes out next. The bell sounds and off we go. Nattie starts off strong. Stark takes over and hits a big drop kick as we head to a mid-match commercial break.
When we return, Stark goes for the Z360 but doesn’t get it. The two go back-and-forth on pin attempts for what feels like forever until ultimately, Nattie gets the win.

“Main Event” Jey Uso Comes To The Ring
Backstage, Rhea Ripley is being interviewed about her knee when up walks Finn Balor. The two have an intense back-and-forth where Balor blames Ripley for what happened with the original Judgment Day.
He said she only cared about herself. Ripley tells him not to rewrite history and lie in her face. Balor tells Ripley when Liv Morgan was coming onto Dom when they were still together, he was the devil on Dom’s shoulder that told him to do it.
“Main Event” Jey Uso walks up and asks if they have a problem. Balor says they don’t but tells Uso he should focus on his Intercontinental Championship goals, because he’s in over his head. Uso flirts with Ripley and says he’s headed to the ring.
We head to another commercial break. When we return, Tessitore mentions Raw from October 7 – December 30 will only be two hours. Back inside the arena, Uso’s theme hits and out comes the master of “YEET!” to a crowd that is going absolutely nuts.
Tessitore nerds it up ala Michael Cole as Uso comes out. He gets a sign from a fan and geeks out a bit more as Uso settles in the ring. He is joined by Bron Breakker in the ring and it is announced that their I-C title showdown will take place next week. Uso hits Breakker with a spear to leave him laying.
WWE World Tag-Team Championship
The Judgment Day (c) vs. The New Day
Backstage, IYO SKY confronts Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill about Belair having a match against Kairi Sane tonight. She says they’re cowards for fighting Sane while her eye is injured. Belair tells SKY she should step in on her behalf. She says she will. It’s set.
Inside the arena, The New Day’s theme hits and out comes Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston as Tessitore mentions 10-years of The New Day. They settle in the ring for their big world tag-team title opportunity as the show heads into a pre-match commercial break.
When we return, The Judgment Day duo of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh make their way down to the ring. Samantha Irvin handles the formal pre-match ring introductions and then the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running.
After some early back-and-forth action, which sees Kingston and Woods start off strong, Balor and McDonagh take over as the show heads into a mid-match commercial break. When we return, we see Kingston looking to make a much-needed tag.
He does, and Woods hits the ring with a ton of energy and quickly shifts the offensive momentum into the favor of The New Day as the crowd comes to life in the background.
Just when it looks like he’s got things won, the other Judgment Day guys come out and Kofi gets distracted dealing with them at ringside, leading to Woods being double-teamed by McDonagh and Balor in the ring.
Balor hits the Coup de Grace for the win. After the match, Woods pushes Kingston off of him and yells at him that he’s had enough of this and it’s time for things to change. We head into another commercial break.
Winners and STILL WWE World Tag-Team Champions: The Judgment Day
Bronson Reed vs. Braun Strowman
We shoot backstage when we return and see Kingston and Woods continue to argue about what happened out there in the ring. Woods complains about not knowing what is going on with his own team anymore.
A Bronson Reed vignette airs with a close-up shot of his eyes talking about being the monster of WWE, not Braun Strowman. He says Strowman is a victim. We head back inside the arena where Reed makes his way out.
On that note, we head to another commercial break. When we return, Strowman’s theme hits and out he comes. The bell sounds and within seconds the top-rope snaps and breaks. This doesn’t stop these two, as they begin brawling.
At ringside, Strowman charges at Reed with his Freight Train spot, but Reed yanks a fan out of the front row and throws him at Strowman to defend himself. Strowman puts Reed through the barricade. Strowman continues pummeling Reed all the way to the back.
He throws him into some cameras, which ruins the feed on the broadcast temporarily. Reed ends up hitting a Tsunami on Strowman through a table. Strowman is out briefly, but gets up and spears Reed through a nearby wall. Security and officials rush to the scene as both guys are laid out on the other side of the wall. We head to another break.
Winner: No Contest
Sami Zayn Once Again Makes Case For Title Bout With GUNTHER
When we return, we see medics and officials dealing with Strowman and Reed and then we see Adam Pearce in his room on the phone telling them to keep him updated on both of them. Ludwig Kaiser walks up and asks Pearce if he’s found an adequate challenger for WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.
Pearce says he’s still working on it since GUNTHER doesn’t seem keen on the Sami Zayn idea, which Pearce says is a good one. Kaiser says he asked about an adequate challenger. On the monitor behind them, Zayn’s theme hits and out he comes.
The camera shifts to him in the ring. He gets a huge pop. He talks about being here in front of a red hot crowd in Portland. He talks about being motivated by what Bret Hart said last week. He wants the pressure of being world champion. He says GUNTHER is scared of him.
Zayn says GUNTHER remembers what happened when they last fought at WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia and he beat him and ended his record-setting reign as Intercontinental Champion. Zayn says GUNTHER is afraid he’ll beat him again. Imperium’s theme hits and out comes Kaiser.
Kaiser tells Zayn that GUNTHER isn’t scared of him, he’s actually trying to save him from himself. He says miracles never happen twice. He says it’s never ever going to happen.
Zayn says it’s interesting that Ludwig is out here talking instead of GUNTHER. He says GUNTHER doesn’t need Kaiser to talk for him. He doesn’t need him for anything. He says Kaiser doesn’t need GUNTHER either. He brings up him turning on Giovanni Vinci.
He asks if he thinks he’s really going to earn respect being GUNTHER’s mouth-piece. He says if he’s gonna come out here, at least have the balls to speak for yourself. GUNTHER’s theme hits and out comes the WWE World Heavyweight Champion this time.
He settles in the ring and tells Zayn he’ll respond to his challenge in a moment, but asks Kaiser first if he has anything he wants to say. With a defiant sounding voice, Kaiser says there’s something he’s been wanting to say.
He looks at GUNTHER with a dead-ass serious look in his eyes, but then quickly turns and takes out Zayn with a clothesline. He goes to work on him. GUNTHER says his answer is and will always remain “No. Zayn fights back and takes him out with a Helluva Kick.
Bianca Belair vs. IYO SKY
Backstage, Cathy Kelley is interviewing Damian Priest when up walks Liv Morgan. She asks Cathy to get lost and then taunts Priest, who fires back at her telling her no one in Judgment Day has balls. He vows to beat down her man Dom-Dom later tonight.
Inside the arena, Bianca Belair’s theme hits and out comes one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Champions for our next match of the evening. As she settles in the ring, we head into a quick pre-match commercial break.
When we return, IYO SKY makes her way out accompanied by Kairi Sane. In Belair’s corner at ringside is Jade Cargill. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one.
Belair hits the stalled suplex and some other trademark spots, as she controls the early offense. We shift gears and head into a mid-match commercial break with “The EST of WWE” still in firm control of things.
When we return, SKY is dominating the action but Belair makes a fired up comeback. Towards the end of this one, these two start killing it. Belair hits a dive through the ropes to SKY on the floor.
Belair hoists SKY up for a suplex at ringside but then holds her as she walks up the ring steps and launches her over the ropes. She climbs to the top for a 450 splash, but lands on the raised knees of the Damage CTRL member.
SKY tries to capitalize after that by heading to the top-rope backwards for her Over the Moonsault finisher, but is cut off by Belair, who hoists her up on her shoulders upside down off the top into a K.O.D. for the win.

Damian Priest vs. Dominik Mysterio
It’s main event time!
But first, we shoot backstage where Rhea Ripley is giddy as she stands next to the other half of The Terror Twins, Damian Priest, and asks him to please destroy Dominik Mysterio. He says he’s gonna tear the kid apart.
We head to a pre-match commercial break. When we return, Chad Gable and American Made are featured in a vignette where they are laugh and boast about being tougher and better than everyone else. They claim they’re “done with those 5150 freaks.” They claim they don’t run from history, they make it.
Backstage, Ludwig Kaiser says he spoke with Adam Pearce and next week he is going to expose Sami Zayn. He takes issue with Zayn trying to cause a rift between himself and GUNTHER. He talks about how Zayn and Kevin Owens always turn on each other over the years.
We learn that Sami Zayn vs. Ludwig Kaiser and Bron Breakker vs. “Main Event” Jey Uso for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, as well as the return of Drew McIntyre will take place on next week’s episode of WWE Raw on September 23.
Backstage, Ilja Dragunov exchanges pleasantries with Uso. Uso walks off and then The Judgment Day approach Dragunov and warn him to be careful who he is friends with. They walk off and join Dom-Dom as he heads to the ring with Liv Morgan.
On that note, we shift gears and head into a pre-match commercial break. When we return, Tessitore and Barrett talk us through some of the fan signs in the arena. We see The Judgment Day standing in the ring with Dom-Dom as he awaits the arrival of Damian Priest.
Priest’s theme hits and out he comes for our final match of the evening. He heads to the ring accompanied by fellow Terror Twins member Rhea Ripley. The bell sounds and Priest immediately begins manhandling Dom-Dom with ease.
Things continue this way for the first few minutes, to the delight of Ripley at ringside. Balor gets involved on Dom’s behalf, however, and Dom-Dom takes over as we head into our final break of the evening.
As the show returns, Dom-Dom is controlling the action. He takes his shirt off and throws it. Ripley grabs it from ringside and does something suggestive with it. Think HBK with Bret Hart’s Canadian flag, pre-nose pick.
Priest takes over and nearly finishes Dom-Dom off, however Liv pulls Dom’s foot on the ropes to save him. Ripley runs over and tackles her over the commentary desk as the Portland crowd explodes. More shenanigans at ringside leads to the action re-entering the ring.
Once in the ring, Priest continues to maul Dom-Dom. He pulls the straps down and hits South of Heaven for the pinfall victory. As soon as the match ends, The Judgment Day hit the ring and attack Priest. Fans, hip to the scene, immediately break out in “YEET!” chants.
Ripley hops on the ring apron to help out, but Liv yanks her down and slams her into the ring steps. Seconds later, “Main Event” Jey Uso’s theme hits. He comes out to an insane crowd reaction but is speared to hell by a mystery man, who pops up and reveals himself to be Bron Breakker.
