WWE RAW RESULTS – DECEMBER 16, 2024

“WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together.” narrated by Paul “Triple H” Levesque gets us started, and then Joe Tessitore welcomes us to the show as we see various Superstar arrival shots.

CM Punk & Seth “Freakin'” Rollins Kick Off This Week’s Show

From there, we shoot inside the TD Garden in Boston, where the familiar sounds of Living Colour’s Cult of Personality plays to bring out “The Best in the World” CM Punk to kick off this week’s show. He settles inside the squared circle, his music dies down and fans loudly chant his name.

Punk tells fans to be careful because some people might get mad that they are chanting his name. He points out the balls a fan in the crowd wearing a New York jersey in Boston has. He then brings up Seth “Freakin'” Rollins and how he’s been in a bad mood, because he’s right, he has been thinking of him lately.

He takes a shot at Rollins dress style, saying he dresses like Liberace, and says he knows at some point his stupid music is going to hit and he’s going to come out and interrupt him. He says dressing like Liberace doesn’t make him Liberace. He thinks Liberace is cool.

He says wearing a pair of Elton John shades doesn’t make him Elton John, and putting on a pair of wrestling boots doesn’t make Rollins a CM Punk. He brings up Rollins asking him to train him for free many years ago. He says now he’s willing to give him the wrestling lesson of his life — for free. He gets fans to chant his name, knowing it’s going to get him to come out. And it does.

Rollins comes out through the crowd without any music and chants Punk’s name. Punk says that’s where he belongs, out there with the rest of the CM Punk fans. Rollins then walks through the crowd towards the barricade while saying he’s got more WrestleMania main events then he’ll ever have. “And that’s a fact, Phil!”

This brings Punk out of the ring. He hops the barricade and the two engage in a wild firefight fist-exchange until a bunch of officials come out to break them up. Punk then breaks free and they brawl again until they are broken up. Rollins then breaks free and they fight until they’re separated again. They end up in the ring brawling again until once more they are broken apart.

Backstage With The Judgment Day

Backstage, we see The Judgment Day in their clubhouse. Finn Balor asks why he was left alone last week. Morgan says they’ll have his back and JD McDonagh’s tonight when they defend their tag-team titles against The War Raiders. Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio head off together.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Ludwig Kaiser

Inside the arena again, the theme for Imperium hits and out comes Ludwig Kaiser for his big title opportunity. He heads to the ring to a bunch of boos from the Boston crowd, as poses on the ropes as the show heads to a quick pre-match commercial break.

When the show returns, we see Rollins throwing a fit backstage as Adam Pearce catches up with him. Rollins demands a fight with CM Punk. Pearce says if they can stop being at each other’s throats for 10 minutes, he can do his job. Rollins yells at him to do his job.

Pearce walks off. Rollins turns around and sees Drew McIntyre. The two exchange words about respect and Roman Reigns and CM Punk. After this wraps up, we head back inside the TD Garden where the dogs start barking, as WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker makes his way out for his title defense.

After the bell sounds to get things officially off-and-running, we see these two begin to get after it. Kaiser slaps Breakker and Breakker can be audibly heard yelling, “What’s with everybody and this slapping crap?!” He builds up a head of steam and starts sprinting the ropes for a big Steiner-Line.

The show heads into a mid-match commercial break as this title tilt continues. When the show returns, Breakker is still in the offensive lead, dominating the challenger until Kaiser lands a big kick and starts to focus on the arm of Breakker after poking him in the eye. Moments later they end up on the floor flying across the commentary desk.

Soon after that, the show heads into another mid-match timeout. This time when we return, we see the action play out all the way to the finish of the bout, which sees Breakker hit a big spear for a pinfall victory. With the victory, Breakker retains his WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Bron Breakker

The New Day Aren’t Welcome In The WWE Locker Room

We shoot backstage, where we see The New Day duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods walking the halls. They run into Rey Mysterio, who refuses to let them into the locker room. He tells them to find somewhere else to change tonight. Woods says that’s fine because they don’t want to share a locker room with them anyways.

The show heads into another commercial break on that note. When we return, we see an extended video package recapping the action at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special over the weekend, including the post-show scene involving Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes.

Now we return backstage at the TD Garden, where the repackaging of The Viking Raiders as The War Raiders continues. Erik and Ivar cut a promo to continue the transition to their new persona and hype their tag-team title opportunity against The Judgment Day in tonight’s main event. When this wraps up, the show heads into another commercial break.

Liv Morgan’s Next Challenger Revealed

When we return, we see Adam Pearce backstage. He is stopped for an interview and asked if there are any updates he can give for the debut of WWE Raw on Netflix. He says he can and officially announces CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin'” Rollins for the WWE Raw on Netflix debut on January 6.

Inside the TD Garden, the theme for Liv Morgan hits and out comes the WWE Women’s World Champion accompanied by “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez. She makes her way to the ring holding a mega phone. She and “Daddy” Dom smooch and the fans boo.

Morgan gloats about her title defense at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. As she continues to talk, she is cut off by the theme music of Rhea Ripley. “Mami” heads to the ring and confronts her and tells her that she just spoke with Pearce and that she has been named the new number one contender for the WWE Women’s World title. No date or show for their title showdown is announced.

Backstage, we see Seth Rollins leaving the building when he is stopped for an interview informing him about the CM Punk match announcement for the WWE Raw on Netflix debut. Behind them we see Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre get into a wild brawl out of nowhere. Officials rush to the scene to break things up.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament
Raquel Rodriguez vs. Zoey Stark vs. Kayden Carter

Inside the arena, Zoey Stark’s theme hits and she makes her way out to the ring, where Raquel Rodriguez is still standing. Up next is the triple-threat first-round match in the ongoing WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

As Stark continues making her way to the ring, the show heads into a quick pre-match commercial break. When we return, Kayden Carter is also out there. The bell sounds and off we go. After some initial back-and-forth action, we see Carter pull into the offensive lead.

We head to a mid-match commercial break moments later. When we return, we see The Miz backstage with The Final Testament. He wants to go their own ways, but Kross says things with them and The Wyatt Sicks aren’t over. He forces Miz to get a match with Dexter Lumis for next week.

Back inside the TD Garden, the match plays out until Stark pulls off the win. With the victory, she advances in the ongoing WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.

Winner and ADVANCING: Zoey Stark

Backstage With Alpha Academy, R-Truth, Pete Dunne & American Made

Backstage, we see The Alpha Academy with R-Truth. Truth mentions Pete Dunne by the name Butch, which brings Dunne in. Dunne tells Truth to not call him Butch. American Made stops by and tells Alpha Academy that they’re jokes now. Otis tells Chad Gable to shut up and Gable says he’s going to destroy what he’s created and he’ll start with Akira Tozawa and American Made leaves.

We head to another commercial break after that. When we return, The New Day are being interviewed backstage by Jackie Redmond when they cut away due to screaming in the background. The cameras catch up with Kairi Sane’s hand slammed and stuck in a crate as Pure Fusion Collective walk off gloating. IYO SKY and Dakota Kai rush to check on Sane.

WWE Tag-Team Championships
The Judgment Day (c) vs. The War Raiders

It’s main event time!

Back inside the arena, the theme for The War Raiders hits and the challengers for our final match of the evening make their way out. Erik and Ivar head to the ring for their big WWE Tag-Team Championship opportunity. They settle inside the squared circle and their music dies down.

Now the familiar sounds of the entrance tune for The Judgment Day plays and out comes reigning, defending WWE Tag-Team Champions Finn Balor and JD McDonagh by themselves. The bell sounds and Lilian Garcia handles the final formal pre-match ring introductions for the challengers and the champions.

From there, we’re officially off-and-running with this high stakes title tilt to close out one of the final episodes of WWE Raw on the USA Network before the highly-anticipated move to Netflix starting on January 6.
