NXT Roadblock Review – March 07, 2023
Kicking off Roadblock with a Tiffany’s Epiphanies segment from Tiffany Stratton. Stratton says she can’t believe how quickly Stand & Deliver is approaching, then runs down the card for tonight’s show. She puts Roxanne Perez & Meiko Satomura on notice, and says she will see the winner of tonight’s Women’s Title match in Los Angeles.
Jailhouse Street Fight
Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak
Tony D’Angelo clotheslines Dijak to the outside. He delivers a series of stomps and a belly 2 belly suplex, then grabs Dijak’s night stick and attempts to lock him in the jail cell. Dijak escapes and tosses D’Angelo into the cell. D’Angelo fights his way out and Dijak sends him into the apron spine first. Stacks charges at Dijak but Dijak levels him with a chair.
He then gets D’Angelo back in the ring and hits him with a chokeslam then tosses several chairs in the ring. He hits D’Angelo repeatedly with one then ascends to the top. D’Angelo cracks a chair across his spine then delivers a back suplex off the middle rope onto a pile of the chairs that takes us to a break.
After the break Dijak delivers a back elbow and lays him on a table set up on the outside. He then delivers an elbow drop off the top rope, and both men go crashing through the table. He tosses D’Angelo in the cell and looks to close it, but D’Angelo prevents him from doing so before planting him with a uranage. He tosses him in the cell but Dijak grabs Stacks on his way in and D’Angelo hesitates to close it.
Dijak then delivers a big boot to escape and takes down Stacks, but D’Angelo becomes irate and tosses Dijak into the ring steps. He berates him with chair shots, then looks to toss him in the cell, but Dijak delivers a low blow to him before delivering Feast Your Eyes.
He drags him in the cell and looks to close the door, but Stacks throws himself between D’Angelo and the door to prevent this from happening. Dijak hits Stacks with Feast Your Eyes giving D’Angelo time to recover. He grabs a crowbar and hits him multiple times with it then sends Dijak’s face bouncing off the door as he slams it shut for the win.

After the break we head to a video of Kiana James & her assistant. Josh Briggs walks in and compliments James’ place, and James dismisses her assistant. Briggs says he wants to talk with James about her relationship with Brooks Jensen and point to flowers with a card addressed to her. James quickly grabs the card and tucks it in her planner, then thanks Briggs for approaching her and says she will give Jensen a call to schedule a date.
Back at ringside NXT Tag Team Champions Gallus is waiting inside the ring then they call out Pretty Deadly.
Pretty Deadly appears on the floating platform and Coffey says he thought they wanted to meet face 2 face. Elton Prince points out that they technically are meeting face 2 face but from a distance. Wolfgang asks them what they want, and Prince says they want a rematch for the titles. Coffey says if there’s a fight, him & Wolfgang will be there. They lay down their NXT Tag Team Titles and tell Pretty Deadly to come and get them. Pretty Deadly heads into the ring, and Gallus launches an attack on Pretty Deadly.
We see Dragon Lee in attendance of tonight’s show.
6 Man Tag Team Match
NXT Champion Bron Breakker & Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius) vs. Indus Sher (Sanga,Veer Mahaan & Jinder Mahal)
Both teams waste no time and go straight after one another. Indus Sher gains the upper hand on Bron Breakker & Creed Brothers before Mahaan tosses Breakker in the ring and the bell sounds. Breakker delivers a splash, then tags in Julius Creed. Julius delivers a suplex then tags in Brutus Creed. Julius bodyslams Brutus on Veer Mahaan but Mahaan gains the upper hand and tags in Jinder Mahal. Brutus hits a vertical suplex but Mahal delivers a knee to Brutus’ midsection.
Breakker & Sanga tag in. Sanga tosses Breakker into the corner, then delivers an elbow and tosses him to the outside, Mahal & Mahaan try to interfere but Creed Brothers level them and toss them out to join Sanga. Breakker & Creed Brothers go flying and level Indus Sher that takes us to a break.
We are back from the break, Sanga plants Julius with a body slam and tags in Mahal & Mahal locks in the Steiner Recliner. Julius escapes and tags in Brutus. Brutus delivers the Brutus Smash but Sanga tags in and levels him. Mahaan tags in and Brutus plants him with a slingshot suplex. Breakker tags in and delivers a moonsault before Julius tags in and hits a 450 Splash off the top. Mahaan & Sanga double team on Julius before Mahaan goes for a pin. Breakker breaks the fall but Mahaan sends Julius colliding with the mat to hit a clothesline. He goes for a pin but Julius kicks out.
Both teams then come face 2 face and begin brawling with one another before Brutus tags in and Julius gets Mahaan up in an electric chair position. Brutus ascends to the top and delivers a Brutus Ball for the win.
Winners: NXT Champion Bron Breakker & Creed Brothers (11:14)

Grayson Waller says the NXT Universe will be disappointed because he isn’t who fans think he is, then says they should be a Bret Hart guy. Michaels says he & Waller used to be cool. He says Waller used to ask him for advice, then asks what happened. Waller says he told Michaels he was going to take over NXT then says he couldn’t care less about who he upsets because he wants to be the number 1 guy. He says Michaels has been holding back in the same manner in which Vince McMahon did it to him, then asks why this is the case. Michaels tells Waller he isn’t the guy because he lost to Bron Breakker at Vengeance Day then says he took his shot and missed. He says he knows he’s angry and wants to blame someone, but the guy he has to look at is the one in the mirror.
Waller says Michaels is only sitting in Gorilla Position because Triple H had a heart attack, and Michaels says he stepped in when his friend needed him. He says he’s the one steering the ship now, and Waller says Michaels has steered the ship into an iceberg. He says Michaels and his team are staring at a star, and Michaels tells Waller NXT isn’t just about one single person. Waller says no one has a connection with fans like Michaels does, then asks when Michaels started talking about we. Michaels admits he was selfish but things changed when he walked into NXT.
Waller says he is sick of NXT and seeing people say they want to be stars, but do nothing to be different. Michaels loses his temper and tells Waller people have been running him down for 40 years. He says Waller can say whatever he wants about him, but draws a line when he takes shots at NXT. Waller tells Michaels to do something about it, then challenges him to a match at Stand & Deliver. Michaels removes his jacket and says people have wanted to face him in the squared circle for a past decade. He says he knows Waller thinks he’s special, and nothing would thrill him more to face him at Stand & Deliver but someone wants to get his hands on him more than Michaels does. He says Waller will get his match at Stand & Deliver then introduces Johnny Gargano and declares him as Waller’s opponent.
Gargano gets in the ring and fires off several right hands. He sets up for a superkick, but Waller slides out of the ring before he can hit it.
Jacy Jayne vs. Gigi Dolan
Match starts off with a lock up before Gigi Dolin sends Jacy Jayne and herself crashing to the outside and they fire off right hands on one another. Dolin gets Jayne back in the ring and sends her crashing into the mat then slaps her. Jayne rolls to the outside and tries escaping through the crowd but Dolin pulls her back in.
Jayne levels Dolin with a clothesline then grabs a chair from under the ring and sets up to use it. Dolin catches Jayne with a boot that takes us to a break.
After the break Jayne hits a splash in the corner and follows it up with a clothesline. Dolin fires back with a series of kicks, but Jayne delivers a neckbreaker and a senton. Dolin then manages to deliver her finisher for the win.
Winner: Gigi Dolan (8:01)

After the match Jayne attacks Dolin from behind. She delivers a kick to her and grabs the chair she pulled out from under the ring earlier then puts Dolin’s head through it and ascends to the middle. Officials run down and one checks on Dolin as the other two stop Jayne and force her to the back.
We head backstage to Josh Briggs,NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Fallon Henley & Brooks Jensen. Briggs says he smoothed things over and addresses the roses Kiana James received earlier, and Jensen gives a weird reaction. His phone then rings, and he picks it up. James is on the other end, and he walks off to talk to her. Henley & Briggs agree that Jensen didn’t send James the flowers and vow to get to the bottom of things.
NXT Champion Bron Breakker heads down and grabs a mic. He says he was supposed to speak next week but he couldn’t wait as he calls Carmelo Hayes to the ring.
Hayes’ music hits and he heads down. He says it is time for their paths to finally cross at Stand & Deliver then says the crowd the match as much as he does. Breakker says that when he held open challenges, disappointment would set in when it wasn’t Hayes’ matches. He says he kept tabs on Hayes, and Hayes said he did the same. Breakker asks Hayes if he remembers a meeting in 2021 where backstage officials said that NXT was shifting to focus on more young stars and they were two of the ones handpicked. Hayes says he remembers, and Breakker says there’s nowhere else for them to go but here. Hayes tells Breakker to put his NXT Title on the line and he will meet him in LA. Breakker agrees and the pair shake hands.
We head backstage and see Tyler Bate & Thea Hail meditating. Andre Chase & Duke Hudson approach them as they finish their session and Bate gives some encouraging words to Hail and she leaves with Chase. Hudson then tells Bate he can’t believe anything would buy the snake oil he’s selling then goes to join Chase & Hail.
Andre Chase vs. Joe Gacy
Andre Chase is firing off a series of right hands. Joe Gacy fires back with a brainbuster but Chase manages to hit an elbow and the Chase U Stomps. He follows it up with a side slam. Gacy delivers a boot and a uranage then follows it up with a splash in the corner and a right hand.
He ascends to the middle rope and delivers a sunset flip as Thea Hail gathers the courage to confront Ava Raine. Gacy takes advantage of a distracted Chase and delivers The Upside Down for the win.

Women’s Title Match
Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Meiko Satomura
Match begins with Roxanne Perez & Meiko Satomura shake hands but Satomura pulls Perez in closer and stares her down as we go to a break.
We are back from the break Perez fires off a pair of forearms but Satomura fires back with a kick to Perez’s midsection, then hits a snapmare. Perez sends Satomura to the outside and looks to go flying, but Satomura catches her with a forearm and gets her back in the ring. She hits a pair of double knees and a running forearm then delivers a series of kicks to her thigh.
She fires off several rights and lefts then delivers a back elbow. Perez gets fired up and hits a series of elbows but Satomura delivers a vicious knee. Perez delivers a dragon screw then delivers a running uppercut and a dropkick that sends Satomura to the outside and lands a tope suicida. She tosses Satomura in the ring, then ascends to the top.
Satomura trips her and meets her on the middle rope but Perez escapes and sets up for a powerbomb. Satomura escapes and looks for a diving crossbody but Perez gets her knees up. She fires off a series of roundhouse kicks and looks for a Death Valley Driver but Perez escapes and hits a Russian leg sweep.
Satomura delivers a back suplex and plants her, then delivers a pair of roundhouse kicks to Perez’s chest. Perez sends Satomura into the ring post then hits Pop Rox. Satomura delivers an enziguri and gets Perez back in the ring then hits a few kicks to her face. She looks for a kick but Perez manages to roll her up for the win.
Winner & Still Women’s Champion: Roxanne Perez (13:59) (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)

After the match Satomura hands Perez her Women’s Title as a sign of respect and holds up her hand. Perez suddenly drops to the mat and medical officials and referees run down to check on her. Booker T gets in the ring as Satomura watches on and begins crying. Shawn Michaels comes down to check on her and officials get her onto a stretcher and roll her through the back. They load her on an ambulance to close out Roadblock.
