NXT Level Up Results – January 20, 2023
Nikkita Lyons vs. Jakara Jackson
Match starts off with a lock up to before Jakara Jackson drops down to avoid a kick before Nikkita Lyons throws it. Jackson controls with a hammerlock but Lyons goes to the leg and gets things to the mat. She covers for a one count and then hooks a side headlock.
Lyons lands a back elbow and wants to go up, but Jackson pulls her down by the hair. She hands Lyons over the middle rope and throws knees from the apron. Jackson gets the mount and throws some strikes.
She goes to an armbar and transitions to an overhead wristlock. Standing armbar as the crowd fades in and out trying to rally Lyons. Lyons is able to get a sidewalk slam to force a break.
Jackson charges into an elbow. Lyons hits a spinning back fist and a running forearm in the corner. A slam follows and then a superkick then the Split Leg Drop gets the victory.
Winner: Nikkita Lyons
Kelly Kinkaid is backstage with Damon Kemp about talking his match with Tank Ledger later on tonight.
Damon Kemp vs. Tank Ledger
Damon Kemp immediately takes things to the mat. He struts over Tank Ledger’s back to clown him. Kemp gets another takedown and shows off some more. Ledger gets a shoulder tackle followed by a sidewalk slam. He sets too early on a backdrop and eats a thrust to the throat.
Kemp gets a neckbreaker and then drops some elbows. Another neckbreaker as Ledger got stuck in the ropes. Overhead belly 2 belly suplex gets two. Kemp stretches Ledger as he goes to work on the shoulder and ribs.
Ledger gets a hip toss to break then lands a clothesline, and hits a fallaway slam. A splash is blocked by Kemp with knees and he finishes with a Rock Bottom Backbreaker for the win.
Winner: Damon Kemp
Odyssey Jones vs. Joe Gacy
Match starts off with a lock up & it’s a stalemate. Joe Gacy tries a running shoulder and that goes poorly for him. Odyssey Jones grabs a side headlock and Gacy has to punch his way out and then gets knocked back down again. Jones goes to work on the arm and then tosses Gacy into the corner. He hits a pair of slams and rolls over Gacy a few times.
The crowd wants another one but Ava Raine grabs the leg to distract letting Gacy get on track. He hits a running knee and drops an elbow for two. Gacy throws strikes and uses the middle rope to choke Jones. He sweeps the leg and gets a neck crank. Jones powers out and throws some clotheslines.
He gets a shoulder breaker followed by a World’s Strongest Slam for two. Gacy lands an elbow in the corner and then a big boot. He gets in a shot on Jones’ knee and then finishes with the Upside Down to put away Jones.
Winner: Joe Gacy
