WWE Main Event Results – May 18, 2023
Dana Brooke vs. Emma
Match begins with a lock up then Emma controls by working the arm and then into a side headlock. She takes Dana Brooke over and gives her a noogie for fun. Emma tries a hip toss but Brooke counters with a backslide for a two count before she offers a handshake, but Emma kicks her in the gut and then gets a slam.
She yells about disrespect and starts kicking Brooke around the ring. Brooke slips out of a slam and gets a slam of her own and then a cartwheel into a boot to the face. Headscissors sends Emma to the corner and Brooke gets a handspring elbow. She gets caught with a modified German suplex then a roll up and that gets two count for Emma.
She hooks a cravat and works that for a bit then she is able to break the hold and gets a double leg into a roll up for a two count but Emma cuts her off with a clothesline. Emma sends Brooke head first into the buckle and repeats in another corner, but gets block trying a 3rd time.
Brooke fights back but gets caught with a splash in the corner then a running basement crossbody splash in the corner gets a two count then she complains some more about disrespect and gets caught with a small package for the win.
Winner: Dana Brooke
Back to Smackdown where AJ Styles pins Edge to win the 1st Triple Threat Match that also included Rey Mysterio. Later, Bobby Lashley pinned United States Champion Austin Theory to win his match that also featured Sheamus. Both winners advanced to the Semi Finals of the World Heavyweight Title tournament.
Back to Smackdown as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns returned and he demanded an apology from The Usos for losing. He shoves Jimmy Uso in the face and he is ready to throw down but Jey apologizes then Roman then has Paul Heyman announce that Reigns & Solo Sika win & become Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions at Night Of Champions.
Back to Smackdown as AJ Styles got the win over Lashley to punch his ticket to the Finals of the World Heavyweight Title Tournament.
Back to Raw as we see Mustafa Ali win the 25 Man Intercontienetal Title #1 Contenders battle Royal last eliminating Ricochet & Bronson Reed.
Back to Raw as Sami Zayn is annoyed that Reigns wants the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles now too and calls Reigns a psycho and manipulator.
Nikki Cross vs. Tegan Nox
We get a lock up to start this match off then they jockey for position. Tegan Nox offers a clean break in the corner but they get into a shoving match and then lock up again. Nox sends Nikki Cross to the apron but walks into a right hand. Cross heads up but Nox knocks her off to the apron and then hits a dropkick that sends Cross to the floor as we go to a break.
After the break Nox in control as she drops Cross on her face and gets a two count. Nox gets top position and fires away with right hands. She mocks Cross as she stomps away in the corner. She hits a superkick and delivers a kick to the spine then talks some more trash and hooks a chinlock.
Cross ducks a clothesline and gets a dropkick to the knee and then another follow by tornado DDT but Nox blocks a suplex and lands a headbutt. They start trading blows in the middle of the ring.
Cross ends up getting a victory roll but Nox kicks out at two then Cross ends up hitting the spinning neckbreaker for the win.
Winner: Nikki Cross
Back to Raw as Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn took on Judgement Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Balor in a Non Title match with Balor getting the win after Gunther distracts Zayn via Coup De Grace.
