WWE Main Event Results – April 13, 2023
Nikki Cross vs. Zoey Stark
Match starts off with a lock up to start this match off and they exchange side headlocks. Zoey Stark gets a shoulder tackle but Nikki Cross gets a crossbody and throws some strikes on the ground. They battle outside and Stark runs Cross back first into the apron. A baseball slide is countered as Cross traps Stark in the ring apron skirt. She heads up top, but misses and Stark gets a clothesline for a two count.
Stark lays in the boots and then hits a running forearm. She uses the middle rope to choke and gets a snapmare followed by a basement clothesline for two count. Stark works on the neck as the crowd tries to rally Cross. She tries to punch her way out and then roll to escape but Stark snuffs that out and hammers down with right hands.
Stark gets a pair of running shoulder blocks in the corner but Cross avoids a 3rd and hits a dropkick to the knee. She hits another and gets a running splash in the corner. She brings Stark out of the corner and plants her face first on the mat.
Cross heads up but Stark gets a kick to stop that. She hits a basement dropkick to the face for a two count. Cross back with a tornado DDT followed by her neckbreaker for the win.
Winner: Nikki Cross
Back to Smackdown as Kevin Owens gets attacked backstage by Solo Sikoa & that leaves Sami Zayn alone later in the night but Matt Riddle comes down for the save.
Back to Raw last week as Brock Lesnar comes out to stand by Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline. Later in the night Lesnar turns on Rhodes and lays him out.
Back to Raw as Rhodes is annoyed that Paul Heyman said he has to earn it in regards to challenging Roman Reigns again then he challenges Lensar for a match at Backlash.
Lensar will be on Raw on Monday to respond to Cody Rhodes’ challenge.
Back to Raw as Lita gets attacked by someone backstage and she is found by Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Becky Lynch is suspicious of them being the ones that found Lita like that.
Back to Raw as Trish Stratus steps in for Lita to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles with Becky Lynch but it fails as Liv Morgan rolls up Stratus to get the win then after the match Stratus turns on Lynch & goes heel.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Bate
Dolph Ziggler works the arm of Tyler Bate then he starts rolling until he is able to escape. More mat wrestling as Ziggler hooks a headlock on the mat but Bate is able to reverse to one of his own. Bate flusters Ziggler and gets a roll up for two count and then a crossbody for two. Ziggler stomps the foot to gain an advantage.
Ziggler trash talks Bate, so Bate points to the sky and Ziggler falls for it and gets slap then a clothesline sends Ziggler over the top to the floor and that takes us to a commercial break.
After the break Ziggler hanging Bate throat first on the top rope and then firing him into the corner then a jumping elbow gets a two as Ziggler flexes on the cover. Ziggler with a side headlock on the mat and he does a headstand to show off while keeping the hold. Bate punches his way out, so Ziggler drops him in the mat and then books a Bow & Arrow.
Bate uses strength to reverse the hold which Ziggler turns back on him. Bate escapes again and fires off some European uppercuts. Ziggler gets caught with a knee in the corner and Bate gets a back elbow off the middle rope. He lands a series of dropkicks, but runs into an elbow in the corner. Ziggler charges and gets caught with an overhead release suplex.
Standing shooting star press gets two then Ziggler goes to the knee and misses a Fame Asser but hits it on the 2nd try and that only gets two then he preps for a superkick. Bate catches it but Ziggler punches him in the face.
Bate gets a rebound lariat and then an airplane spin for a two count then a Tyler Driver 97 is escaped and Ziggler gets a superkick to get the win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Back to Smackdown as Triple H announces The Draft is coming in a few short weeks.
Back to Raw as Kevin Owens & Solo Sikoa meet in the main event then The Usos get involved as always and that lets Sikoa pick up the win. The Bloodline beat down starts but Sami Zayn & Riddle arrive just in time to make the save.
