The Winter is Coming episode of All Elite Wrestling’s flagship program and the ongoing Continental Classic tournament made this week’s AEW Dynamite episode particularly noteworthy.
Backstage at the show, there was an intriguing name, Umaga’s son, Zilla Fatu, who made his pro wrestling debut for Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion, Reality of Wrestling, this past July at their Summer of Champions event at the Humble Civic Center after training with ROW.
Following the show, the WWE Hall of Famer announced that Fatu and ROW had split up due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Umaga, an Anoa’i family member and cousin of The Usos and Roman Reigns, worked for WWE in the 2000s under various guises. During his Umaga run, he was first pushed as a main eventer, then as an upper mid-carder, where he held the Intercontinental Title twice. Umaga died of a heart attack in 2009.
On Wednesday night, Zilla Fatu tweeted that he was at AEW Dynamite from Arlington, Texas, where he was visiting.
He shared photos with AEW President Tony Khan, Daniel Garcia, Isiah Kassidy, Nick Wayne, and Chris Jericho, as seen below.
