WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results – November 1, 2019
Before we start off with this week’s coverage of Smackdown, a big thank you to Dave Scherer for blogging the show live since I was not available to do the coverage as the show aired since I was at another show.
We are in Buffalo, New York and your announcers are Renee Young, Tom Phillips, and Aiden English.
Tom explains why the announce team is not your usual pairing of Michael Cole and Corey Graves.
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar makes his way to the ring with his advocate Paul Heyman.
Paul introduces himself and his client Brock Lesnar. Paul says he would like to shed the brightness of his brilliance on the darkness of your ignorance. The only way to describe his client’s mood tonight is to educate you on the fact that his client is really really pissed off tonight. Paul says you are thinking how could he feel after one of the most historic moments in combat sports history when his client conquered Cain Velasquez. Instead of talking about that fact, Paul presents this footage.
We see the match from Crown Jewel.
Paul says after nine long years of the indignity of having a scar etched into his face and soul by that butcher Cain Velasquez, he was able to gain revenge and vanquish Cain. After that victory, what happened? Then came your hero . . . Rey Mysterio.
Paul shows us the footage of what happened after the match.
Paul says we have a real problem going on here. Paul says his client went to Vince McMahon, the chairman of the board and owner of the company. Just like Rey Mysterio delivered Cain Velasquez as a sacrifice to Brock, they demanded Rey be handed up to Brock. Vince said no because Raw superstars are exclusive to USA and Smackdown superstars are exclusive to Fox. That is why Rey cannot be served up to Brock Lesnar. If Rey can’t come to Smackdown for Brock Lesnar, then as of this Monday, Brock Lesnar is going to come to Raw, looking for Rey Mysterio. If a network, chairman of the board, or WWE itself has a problem, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to fine or suspend Brock Lesnar? Are you going to seek litigation against Brock? Paul says his people invented litigation. Paul says Brock quits Smackdown and he will show up on Raw on Monday. He will be going hunting for Rey Mysterio. Paul tells Rey his life is in danger.
We see Brock and Paul walking in the back as they leave the building.
We see Triple H and Shawn Michaels looking at Paul and Brock leaving.

Match Number One: Bayley (with Sasha Banks) versus Nikki Cross for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship
They lock up and Bayley with a forearm to the back of the head. They lock up again and Bayley backs Nikki into the corner and Nikki pushes Bayley and gets a near fall with a rollup. Nikki with a jackknife cover for a near fall. Nikki with an arm drag into an arm bar and she gets a near fall. Bayley with a knee and she sends Nikki to the mat.
Nikki with a head scissors take down and Bayley goes to the floor. Nikki with a drop kick through the ropes and then she hits a tornado DDT off the apron. Nikki sends Bayley into the ring and Nikki gets a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Bayley with a reverse chin lock. Bayley with a knee and Irish whip but Nikki floats over and gets a near fall with a rollup. Bayley with a clothesline for a near fall. Nikki with forearms to Bayley and Bayley goes to the floor. Bayley blocks a drop kick attempt through the ropes and Bayley sends Nikki into the ring steps. Bayley sends Nikki back into the ring and gets a near fall.
Bayley with shoulders in the corner. Bayley misses a shoulder in the corner and hits the turnbuckles. Nikki with a jaw breaker and forearms. Nikki with a cross body and forearms. Nikki with a splash into the corner and a bulldog. Nikki goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Nikki sets for the twisting neck breaker but Sasha gets involved. Bayley with a kick to Nikki and hits the elbow drop for a near fall.
Bayley puts Nikki on the turnbuckles and Nikki pushes her off. Bayley sends Nikki face first into the mat and Nikki goes to the floor. Nikki pulls up the ring skirt when Bayley goes for a baseball slide. Nikki hits Sasha when she tries to interfere. Nikki goes up top and Sasha pushes Nikki off the turnbuckles and Bayley with a snap mare driver for the three count.
Winner: Bayley (Retains Championship)
After the match, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler comes through the crowd and sends Sasha into the ring post and she hits Bayley with a jumping knee. Shayna sends Bayley shoulder first into the ring post. Shayna with a gutwrench gourdbuster. Shayna with a running knee to the head.
Shayna takes her title belt and leaves through the crowd.

We are back with a look at what Shayna Baszler just did to Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Pat McAfee replaces Aiden English on commentary.
Cathy Kelley is in the back and she is with Sami Zayn. Cathy asks Sami about what has happened so far tonight. Sami says it is a weird night. He sees a pattern. We saw Shawn and Triple H, then Shayna Baszler, and then Pat McAfee. Maybe that means NXT is here. They need to watch where they stick their nose. If they stick their nose in the wrong person’s business, it will be a problem. He says if anyone sticks their nose in his business . . .
Keith Lee and Matt Riddle show up.
Sami says he is a big fan of them and NXT in general. Sami says they used to call him the heart and soul of NXT and it meant a lot to him. Sami says he has been down with NXT since day one. Sami shows Matt and Keith his shirt and they point out it is a black shirt. Sami says he was wearing his NXT shirt and he took it off in the car because he did not want to get any stains on it while he ate. Sami says he will get the shirt and tells Keith and Matt to have a seat.
Sami makes a right turn as Keith and Matt accompany Sami.
Sami makes his way to the arena and Matt and Keith chase Sami. Matt grabs Sami and sends him into the ring. Matt removes the flip flops and Sami begs for forgiveness.
Sami misses a punch and Riddle with a knee and Bro Derek. Keith thinks about what to do to Sami and Keith goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault.
We are told that Miz will be his own guest on MizTV tonight.
We take a look at footage from the Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman match from Crown Jewel.

We are back and Miz makes his way to the ring for MizTV.
Miz mentions that this has been a crazy 24 hours and especially for the man who was supposed to be Miz’ guest, The Fiend. We see highlights from the Universal Title Match from Crown Jewel.
Miz says the Universal Champion cannot be here today. Miz wants to talk about the elephant in the room and that is NXT. We have seen the women’s champion Shayna Baszler drop the Smackdown champion Bayley. We saw Keith Lee and Matt Riddle bruatlize Sami Zayn. Miz says he liked it and he thinks everyone liked it. Miz says he cannot wait to see what is next. He says WWE is about the shock . . .
Tommaso Ciampa’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Ciampa take a mic and Ciampa says this is supposed to be must see TV? You are supposed to be the most must see superstar in all of WWE? Tommaso Ciampa introduces himself and he happens to be the greatest sports entertainer of all time. You act like the entire world revolves around you. It is about time for someone to come out here and give you a reality check to know where you sit in the food chain. You are everything wrong with Raw and Smackdown. Ciampa says while he is out there breaking his neck in NXT to prove how good he is, you are playing actor and talk show host? While you play the part, Tommaso Ciampa is the part.
Miz says he has heard the same thing told to him for a long time. Miz says Ciampa acts like he doesn’t know Ciampa but when people talk about NXT, they talk about you. Here is the thing. People want to see Ciampa and Miz battle on the mic but he was hoping for something more original. For fifteen years, people told him the same thing. Miz says if he was acting for 15 years, he deserves an Oscar. If you are here to make a statement, make the damn statement.
Ciampa says them sound like fighting words to him.
Miz suggests they fight right here, right now.

Match Number Two: Miz versus Tommaso Ciampa
They lock up and Miz with an arm drag and he poses. Ciampa applauds Miz and they lock up again. Miz with a side head lock. Ciampa with a side head lock of his own. Ciampa with a shoulder tackle and Ciampa with a kick to the midsection and Miz is sent to the apron. Miz slides back in and gets a near fall with a rollup.
Miz with a kick and he sends Ciampa over the top rope to the floor. Miz goes for a drop kick through the ropes but Ciampa moves and Ciampa sends Miz into the ringside barrier and apron. Miz is sent into the ring steps and Ciampa pats himself on the back and applauds his work. Ciampa with a reverse chin lock and he takes Miz to the mat.
Miz with elbows and he punches Ciampa. Miz with a knee to the midsection and a knee lfit. Miz with Reality Check for a near fall. Miz with kicks in the corner. Miz with running knees into the corner and he hits a second knee. Ciampa with a discus clothesline and Ciampa with a running knee to the head. Ciampa gets a near fall. Ciampa goes for Fairy Tale Ending but Miz escapes. Miz goes for the figure four leg lock but Ciampa kicks Miz away. Miz clips Ciampa but Ciampa kicks Miz away.
Ciampa with a kick and he tries for a power bomb but Miz counters into a DDT for a near fall. Miz goes for the figure four leg lock. Ciampa tries to reverse the figure four but Miz blocks Ciampa from rolling over for a moment but Ciampa is able to reverse the hold but Miz rolls through and Ciampa gets to the ropes.
Miz goes for the figure four leg lock but Ciampa with an inside cradle for a near fall. Ciampa avoids a kick and gets a near fall with a rollup. Ciampa with a single leg crab and Miz with an inside cradle for a near fall. Ciampa with a chop and Miz chops back. They go back and forth. Ciamp misses a forearm into the corner and Miz with an Awesome Clothesline. Miz goes up top and is met with a jumping knee. Ciampa with Fairy Tale Ending for the three count.
Winner: Tommaso Ciampa
Daniel Bryan walks in the back and he sees Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Daniel wants to know what is going on. Hunter says he was called out and he saw the announcement of Raw versus Smackdown versus NXT for Survivor Series. It looks like someone is looking for a fight.
Daniel says he is looking for a fight so why don’t we just go fight right now.
Hunter and Daniel face off and Hunter says he didn’t bring his gear and he is wearing a suit. He is not looking for a fight, but he knows someone else who is. Shawn says it is cold and Hunter says Shawn isn’t looking for a fight.
Hunter tells the champ to come over and he says that Adam Cole is looking for a fight.
Daniel says if we are going to do it, do it right. Daniel Bryan versus Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.
Hunter likes the idea and makes the match.
We go to commercial.
We are back and we see Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose in the ring.
Carmella’s music plays but she does not make her way to the ring.
We go to the back where Carmella is down and Biana Belair is attacking Dana Brooke. Bianca with forearms and she sends Dana into a production case. Belair presses Carmella over her head and tosses her over some cases.
Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox make their way to the stage. Rhea says you look like you don’t have opponents, well you have opponents now.
Match Number Three: Tegan Nox and Rhea Ripley versus Sonya Deville and Rhea Ripley
Nox and Ripley attack Deville and Rose. Nox sends Deville into the apron. Deville with punches to Nox and she sends Tegan into the ringside barrier. Rhea with punches to Mandy. Mandy with a kick and forearm. Rhea with a drop kick. Tegan sends Sonya over the announce table and Tegan with a Shiniest Wizard and Rhea with a Gorilla Clutch and Mandy taps out.
Winners: Tegan Nox and Rhea Ripley

We are back and Triple H and Shawn Michaels make their way to ringside to watch the main event.
Stephanie McMahon comes out. She says the WWE Universe never gets enough credit. You have started a movement that has made changes all over the world. It is the Women’s Revoluation. Stephanie mentions the match between Lacey Evans and Natalya at Crown Jewel.
Match Number Four: Daniel Bryan versus Adam Cole (with Roderick Strong) for the NXT World Championship
They lock up and Bryan with a side head lock takedown and Cole with a head scissors. They lock up and Cole with a side head lock. Cole with a take down and Bryan with a head scissors and Cole escapes. They lock up and Bryan with a wrist lock. Cole with a reversal. Bryan backs Cole into the corner and Bryan pushes Cole and slaps him.
Cole with forearms and Bryan with a European uppercut and kick. Bryan with a chop in the corner and he chops Cole again. Cole with forearms and kicks followed by a side head lock take down. Cole with a shoulder tackle and Bryan with a kick to the chest. Bryan puts the hand on the mat and stomps on the elbow.
Bryan with a surfboard into a dragon sleeper. Bryan with a knee drop to the head. Bryan with a European uppercut or two. Cole with a bicycle kick and Cole gets a near fall. Cole sets for a suplex but Bryan blocks it. Bryan suplexes Cole and both men go over the top rope to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Bryan goes for a back slide but Cole blocks it and Cole with a jumping neck breaker for a near fall. Cole with an elbow drop and he connects with another elbow drop. Cole gets a near fall. Cole with a figure four head scissors. Cole kicks Bryan in the corner and follows with forearms. Cole with a forearm and Bryan fires back. Bryan with a European uppercut and Cole with an Irish whip and Bryan flips out of the corner and hits a flying clothesline.
Cole with a kick and Bryan sends Cole over the top rope to the floor and Cole hits the apron. Byran with a flying knee off the apron. Bryan sends Cole back into the ring and Bryan goes up top for a missile drop kick and hits it. Bryan with a running drop kick into the corner and he puts Cole on the turnbuckles. Bryan with a Frankensteiner but Cole holds on and rolls through for a near fall. Bryan with European uppercuts.
Cole with a bicycle kick for a near fall. Bryan with a waist lock and Cole with a standing switch. Cole is sent to the floor and Bryan with a suicide dive. Bryan sets for a second one and Cole with a round kick and both men are down as we go to commercial.
We are back and Bryan is crotched on the turnbuckles. Cole sets for a superplex and Bryan escapes and he crotches Cole. Bryan sets for a spider German superplex and Bryan pulls himself up. Bryan goes for a diving head butt but misses when Cole moves. Cole with a fisherman’s neck breaker for a near fall. Cole pulls down the knee pad as he sets for the Last Shot and Bryan avoids it and applies a single leg crab. Cole reaches for the ropes but Bryan pulls Cole into the center of the ring. Bryan with a heel hook. Cole rolls to the ropes to force a break.
Bryan with kicks to the leg. Cole with forearms and Bryan with kicks and chops. Bryan goes for a move from a fireman’s carry but Cole with a lungblower for a near fall. Bryan with a LeBell Lock and then Bryan stomps on Cole’s head and neck. Bryan returns to the LeBell Lock. Cole tries to get to the ropes and Bryan pulls at the arm Cole uses to get to the ropes but Cole gets his foot on the ropes to force a break.
Bryan with kicks to the chest. Bryan misses a round kick and Cole with an O’Connor Roll but Bryan rolls through and Cole rols through again and gets a near fall. Bryan with a round kick to the head. Bryan sets for the running knee but Cole with a super kick and Cole hits Panama Sunrise followed by Last Shot for the three count.
Winner: Adam Cole (retains championship)
After the match, Roderick Strong celebrates in the ring with Adam Cole as the NXT roster makes their way to the ring.
Triple H says you wanted the thunder you got it. You want to pick a fight with us at Survivor Series. If we are going to have a fight, you need an army. What do you do when you want to build an army. You look to your blood, you look to your family, and you build and army for a fight. This is our army. This is our fight. This is our ring. At Survivor Series, know what you are getting into. We have fired the first shot. Raw, Smackdown, let’s see what you got. Just remember one thing . . . We are NXT.
