During Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the company officially announced that AEW World Champion Jon Moxley will defend his title against AEW World Trios Champion Samoa Joe at the upcoming Beach Break special. The high-stakes clash is set to headline the May 14 edition of Dynamite, taking place at the NOW Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The match marks the first official bout announced for the Beach Break special and stems from rising tensions between The Death Riders and The Opps. Last week, The Opps shocked the AEW Universe by capturing the AEW World Trios Championships after Samoa Joe choked out Moxley to seal the win.
