When it was announced last week that Vince McMahon would return as WWE’s Chairman of the Board, the company’s story at the time was that he would not be involved in day-to-day operations and that the management structure would remain unchanged.
Only a few days later, Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon resigned as co-CEO, and Nick Khan is now the sole CEO of the company, with word that Vince is already suggesting changes.
McMahon has been back at the company office, suggesting changes, according to Ringside News, and the story has been confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
“Ringside News first reported McMahon having been back in the office and suggesting changes, and we’ve confirmed that story as well. Talent was told on Friday that Paul Levesque [Triple H] would remain in charge of creative and Levesque threw out a scenario that Vince could make suggestions and he talks to several people about creative and they can make suggestions but he is the guy making the final calls,” Meltzer said.
On Friday, Paul “Triple H” Levesque met with the SmackDown talent and stated that he would continue to be in charge of creative. He mentioned that McMahon could make suggestions, and that he talks to several people about creative plans, and they can also make suggestions, but he (Triple H) has the final say.
So far, Vince has not been seen backstage, and it does not appear that things are completely back to where they were before Vince stepped down, but some in the company believe they will at some point.
