Vince McMahon Insisted That a WWE Producer Be Addressed Differently Backstage

The difference between when Vince McMahon was in charge of creative and now with Triple H is night and day. There are numerous stories about McMahon’s unusual corks, including names and terms.

Petey Williams, a former TNA wrestler, now works as a backstage producer for WWE. On Monday’s RAW, he was referred to as Pete after taking a spear from Bobby Lashley.

Many fans were taken aback when Petey was referred to as Pete. According to Fightful Select, this stems from a McMahon mandate.

“PETE WILLIAMS turned some heads when he wasn’t referred to as “Petey Williams” on Raw, as he’s been his entire career. We were actually told this past summer that was an insistence of Vince McMahon, who demanded he be referred to as “Pete” backstage.”

As PWMania.com previously reported, The Wall Street Journal published a report today regarding McMahon’s intention to return to WWE after resigning from the company earlier this summer. Another assault charge was leveled against McMahon, according to the report.
