The D’Angelo Family has a lot to celebrate this week.
Following Tony D’Angelo’s big victory on Tuesday night’s episode of WWE NXT, the leader of The D’Angelo Family took home the NXT Heritage Cup Championship.
D’Angelo defeated Charlie Dempsey of the No Quarter Catch Crew to win the NXT Heritage Cup.
After the match, D’Angelo was congratulated by WWE NXT executive and WWE Hall of Fame legend Shawn Michaels.
“Tremendous win for Tony D’Angelo and an incredible night for The Family,” Michaels wrote. “Congratulations to the new Heritage Cup Champion… another leap forward for a bonafide Superstar.”
D’Angelo replied to Michaels, writing, “Italian heritage cup champion. THE DON! I appreciate you Shawn!”
WWE also released exclusive backstage footage of The D’Angelo Family being greeted by Shawn Michaels upon returning through the curtain to the backstage area after the match.
