The main storyline in AEW currently centers on the Devil character, who was first introduced alongside MJF at All Out last year in an attempt to win an AEW World Title shot. Later, it was revealed that he was the person hiding behind the mask. MJF went on to win the title from Jon Moxley after CM Punk was stripped of it.

The Devil and his mystery partners attacked Jay White, The Acclaimed, and Billy Gunn in recent months. Prior to Full Gear, White had been feuding with MJF, while the babyfaces teamed with MJF on television.

Hangman Page was eliminated by the group on Dynamite this past Wednesday. Britt Baker had reportedly been ruled out as the person behind the Devil character.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Page, who was slammed into the windshield of a car during Dynamite, will be off television for a short time to sell the attack.

The Devil gimmick has sparked speculation that Jack Perry, who hasn’t been seen since All In due to his suspension following a backstage altercation with CM Punk, is behind it. Perry and Punk clashed after Punk objected to Perry’s desire to use real glass for a segment with Hook this summer. Perry did a spot at All In in which he slammed Hook on the windshield of a car and made a glass reference to the camera.

Fightful reported that they received a message from a high-level source immediately following the Page segment on Wednesday, stating that they do not believe Perry is involved in the angle. Perry hasn’t attended any AEW events since All In, despite the fact that his suspension has expired.
