Update On Sammy Guevara Following Scary Incident Before AEW Dynamite

Sammy Guevara looked to be knocked out during his match with Serpentico during the ROH TV tapings on Wednesday night, which was a scary moment before AEW Dynamite.

Fans in attendance noted that the injury occurred when he attempted a cutter to counter a top-rope move but missed, landing on Guevara’s head. They stopped the match and Serpentico was declared the winner.

Guevara was stretchered to the back. On X, Dave Meltzer stated that Guevara was believed to have suffered a concussion. According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, Guevara was seen walking around on his own after being checked out, and it was difficult to tell he had been stretchered earlier.

Bryan Alvarez, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, revealed what he knew about Guevara. He stated, “I was told that at the time they were pretty concerned about it, but he was in the trainer’s room later and seemed to be okay, although I’m sure he will be in concussion protocol for a while.”

We wish him speedy recovery.
