Before AEW Collision’s June 17 debut as a brand-new weekly Saturday night two-hour program on TNT, the names listed by AEW on the promotional materials for the event included Miro, Samoa Joe, Thunder Rosa, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade El Idolo.
Since September, Andrade has been sidelined with a torn pec. In October, AEW also expelled him after he got into a fight with Sammy Guevara behind the scenes.
Andrade underwent surgery for a torn pec in late November, as was previously mentioned, and given the typical recovery period, he ought to be ready for the premiere of the new show.
During his appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted Andrade is returning to the ring two days prior to Collision’s premiere for a show in Mexico and should be back in time for Collision.
“Andrade will be back in time because Andrade booked…Andrade is actually working a show in Mexico two days before, which I believe is going to be the first match back. So he should be back on that show and ready to go after his surgery to repair a torn pec,” Meltzer stated.
