Soccer is one game that requires one to be physically fit and have skills. Having physical power has made some soccer players turn into wrestling after playing football. If you usually place Betway English Premier League bets, you might not have heard of them as none made it to the EPL. There are quite a number of football players who moved to the wrestling ring. Discussed below are some of them:
Mason Ryan
Barri Griffiths always looked like a WWE superstar. He was a successful Welsh soccer player. He played for Porthmadog F.C. while they were in the Welsh Premier League. After a knee injury, he had to quit. He joined the New Nexus in 2011.
Paul Diamond
Paul Diamond can be remembered to be one of the Badd company with Pat Tanaka, or as Kato of the Orient Express. He can also be remembered as Max Moon! He is from Croatia and came to North America as a soccer player. He played for the NASL’S Tampa Bay Rowdies from the year 1982 to 1984. As the league ended and after acquiring his green card, he started training with the Malenkos, which is how he ended up in wrestling. Punters on Betway might not have heard a lot about him.
Antonino Rocca
Rocca came from Argentina. He was one of Vincent J. McMahon’s top draws for several years. He did business in the United States during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. He started his sports life in the pitch, just like most kids do. He was an outstanding soccer player, but unfortunately, he did not play for long. He got an injury that led him to venture into wrestling. Most of the time, he used his soccer skills in the ring while wrestling. This made him an amazing and unique style of wrestling.
Eva Marie
Eva Marie always wanted to be a soccer player. While playing soccer during her senior year in high school, she got an ankle injury. She was informed that she could never play soccer again. Fortunately, she recovered and played at Junior college. She transferred to Arizona state, but due to lack of self-confidence, she could not play although she wanted to. She then moved to Cal State Fullerton. She was convinced to play again by the coach, but NCAA got in the way.
Stuart Tomlinson
Stuart Tomlinson first played for Crew Alexandra in a second-division match. He was later loaned to Stafford Rangers. His soccer career took a different turn when he suffered injuries. He was then loaned to Burton Albion F.C., but the transfer was delayed after sustaining a calf injury. He was a good goalkeeper with a muscular physique that earned him the name “The Tank.” From the year 2014, he became part of WWE’s NXT. He fought under the name Hugo Knox. Soccer punters on Betway might not have heard much about him because injuries curtailed his career.
Andre Rene Rousimoff
He is also called Andre, the Giant. He is known for being a huge person, and that’s why the name “giant.” From a report by Rome News-Tribune, Andre said that he played soccer and rugby while young. He played for his native soccer teams in France. At one point, he was offered a contract to play in the American NFL, but he turned down the offer since the pay would be insufficient.
