With Lex Luger officially set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025, fans have speculated who the iconic star might choose to present him on the big night. When asked directly, Luger expressed his ideal scenario:
“If I could have my two guys up there with me, man, DDP on my shoulder kind of spotting me and Sting on the other, if it’s possible.”
However, with Sting currently under contract with AEW, questions quickly arose about whether such a moment could realistically happen.
During a media call promoting AEW Dynasty, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of Sting appearing at the WWE Hall of Fame to induct Luger. Khan responded:
“I’m not sure. I’m very focused on AEW Dynasty. I talked to Sting recently before AEW Revolution, looking back on some great memories. We caught up on the phone right around the pay-per-view and that was the last time we had spoken. Haven’t heard from him about that. Certainly, he’s doing very well, and that relationship and friendship means so much to me, and we’re all very grateful for Sting. The last time I talked to Sting, that didn’t come up. Would have to talk to him about that.”
Sting and Luger share a deep history as friends, tag partners, and WCW mainstays, making the idea of Sting inducting Luger especially meaningful for fans of wrestling’s golden era. Whether such a crossover moment between AEW and WWE will be permitted remains to be seen, but the sentiment is clearly shared by all involved.
