WWE has announced three major matches for RAW next week.
Braun Strowman will return to the ring next week to face Chad Gable.
On the September 5 RAW, Strowman returned to WWE and ran through four tag teams, including Alpha Academy. On the September 9 SmackDown, Strowman destroyed Gable and Otis again, but on the September 16 SmackDown, Otis and Gable ambushed Strowman after he destroyed Maximum Male Models and forced him to retreat before he could exact revenge. The Monster of All Monsters defeated Otis in singles action on last Friday’s SmackDown, despite interference from Gable. Johnny Gargano and Kevin Owens defeated Alpha Academy on this week’s RAW. Gable later vented to Austin Theory, blaming the loss on Strowman’s recent actions and referring to him as a two-ton doofus. Strowman then dialed Theory’s number and asked him to connect Gable. Strowman revealed that he will face Gable on RAW next week in Gable’s hometown, avoiding the need to fly Gable’s body home for the funeral.
Otis will also compete against Gargano next week.
Theory was upset in that same backstage segment with Alpha Academy about how he tried to help Alpha Academy defeat Gargano and Owens but still fell short. Following Strowman’s phone call, Theory hyped Gable’s match for next week and revealed that Otis will also face Gargano on Monday. According to Theory, Otis will end Gargano’s run next week.
The segment ended with Otis excited for his upcoming match, while Gable was not.
Candice LeRae will face WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Dakota Kai on next week’s RAW.
PWMania.com previously reported at this link on LeRae’s surprise return to WWE on this week’s RAW. Backstage, LeRae approached RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss, saying she hopes Belair silences Bayley at Extreme Rules. Belair promised to silence Bayley, and then she congratulated LeRae on her debut victory over Nikki A.S.H., but Damage CTRL interrupted. Bayley said that compliments are just jealousy disguised, while LeRae responded that bullies are just cowards disguised. Bayley threatened LeRae, and Kai appeared to volunteer to face her. Bayley stated that she understands LeRae is new, but she needs to know that Damage CTRL has taken control and that a match with Kai will have to wait until next week. The two sides exchanged a few more words, but that was the end of the segment.
Belair, Theory, Bayley, WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, Matt Riddle, and Seth Rollins are also advertised for next week’s RAW on the WWE Events website. The arena website also features Rey Mysterio, as well as Riddle vs. Rollins as the dark main event.
