Taz overcame his technical wrestling style in ECW and WWE and later found success as an announcer. The AEW announcer became tired of reading fan opinions on how to run the pro wrestling business after seeing them on Twitter.
In a tweet, he slammed fans who argue about what promoters should and should not do and how wrestlers should work but have never actually seen a ring. He stated that he is still trying to make sense of what happens behind the scenes.
“Everyone is entitled to opinions & many folks r passionate fans, thats great! But, the bulk never been NEAR a ring (never the less in 1), I’ve been in this game bulk of my adult life & at times I’m still trying to figure it out! But expert fan or podcaster HAS it down? Stop.”
Following this tweet, one fan commented that not being in the pro wrestling business disqualifies you from having an opinion on wrestling.
Taz responded to a fan by stating that they had completely misconstrued his statement. And he went on to say that while having an opinion is fine, they shouldn’t tell those who have been in wrestling for years how to do it. The fan wrote, “I always this this is such a dumb form of gatekeeping. Oh you don’t do UFC then you can’t have an opinion!! Never played in the NFL don’t ever comment!! Usually it means the random person was right and the expert doesn’t have anything to refute it.”

“I’m a big NFL fan. I played HS & D2 NCAA ball. I watch/read/study football for years, did a national radio show cover NFL everyday! But I would never, come on here & tell a player or coach ‘what they did wrong’ or ‘what they should’ve done’. I’m not qualified.”
