It was an action-packed night at House Of Glory’s “The Darkest Hour,”emanating from the NYC Arena in Jamaica, NY, on December 1, 2023.
Former inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions Grizzled Young Veterans were on the card. While they came up short in their HOG Tag Team Championship Match against Mane Event, AEW stars Swerve Strickland, and Mike Santana were both victorious in their matches. We look back at these matches and how the action went down.
Swerve Strickland vs. Mike Bailey
The crowd was electric during this match. Chants of “Swerve’s House” and “Speedball” came simultaneously from the crowd throughout the match. This was a back-and-forth match. Prince Nana, who was at ringside, did help Swerve multiple times in the match. In the end, Swerve was able to pull out the victory in a tough-fought contest.
HOG World Championship Match: Mike Santana vs. Matt Cardona (c)
Champion Matt Cardona came out first, grabbed a mic, and insulted the fans. He also said he’s so confident he can beat Santana that he wants to make the match a No Holds Barred Match. Mike Santana came out next to a hero’s welcome.
This match saw chairs as the primary weapon, a door, and even Matt Cardona action figures. Throughout the match, Cardona was antagonizing the crowd. Going as far as to say Puerto Rico fu*king sucks! Insulting Santana’s heritage and the Puerto Rican fans in attendance.
Ultimately, the fans saw what they came for when Santana pinned Cardona to become the new HOG World Champion!
