Stu Grayson On Brodie Lee: ‘AEW Barely Scratched The Surface Of His Potential’

Former AEW star Stu Grayson appeared on the “Straight Talk Wrestling” podcast to talk about a number of topics, including the late great Brodie Lee and how he believes AEW only scratched the surface of what they could have done with him and the Dark Order.

Grayson said, “When you talk about his career, he had a pretty solid career, even though he did not accomplish as much as he should have, given his personality, his skills, and everything. But for me, everything Brodie-related, my relationship with him was based off pro wrestling for the longest time. I met him in CHIKARA when I was 18, and then joining AEW with Dark Order, but everything that really mattered for Brody was his family. Knowing that now his kids are…they’re great kids, love these kids, that Amanda’s doing well, that the whole family is doing good, that’s really all that matters. When it comes down to wrestling, I feel like we only got to scratch the surface of what he could have done, what Dark Order could have done with him. It feels like we just couldn’t get any of the good stuff. I think everything good was coming up, and it was taken away from us, so he’s got a pretty solid career, but you barely got to see a fraction of who Brodie Lee really was, as a man and as a wrestler. People like Brodie, absolutely everyone universally speaks highly of them. I have never met another human being where even the people who were not his friend, even competitors, people who did not like, were like, ‘He was the most genuine, best person I’ve ever met. We were bitter enemies, but I loved being his enemy.’ You know what I mean? He was that actual, that dude where I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about him, and that’s because there was nothing bad to say about him. He was the man.”
