On Wednesday night, WWE held a set of TV tapings for the NXT brand, taping the June 14th and 21st episodes of the weekly show. Beginning June 28th, WWE intends to return to live episodes.
Bron Breakker defeated Duke Hudson to retain his NXT Championship on the June 14th episode. Following the match, Cameron Grimes appeared on NXT to challenge Breakker for the title on the Great American Bash special on July 5th.
Breakker accepted the challenge. Grimes also cut a promo saying, Bron had more than him growing up, and while everyone recognized Bron’s father, Rick Steiner, no one knows who Grimes’ father is.
At the In Your House special on Saturday night, Grimes lost the NXT North American Title to Carmelo Hayes. In the main event of the same show, Breakker successfully ended his rivalry with Joe Gacy by retaining the title over the young star.
