John Cena is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, who became a record 16-time world champion. He has also worked in films and is known for his roles in The Marine, Trainwreck, Blockers and Ferdinand. The 47-year-old has been appearing part time on WWE since 2018 and is said to have plans to retire at the end of 2025. WWE fans love to watch him in action in the ring, and often back him for victory after finding the best crypto odds available in the market.
1- Memorable victory against The Rock
John Cena suffered a defeat to The Rock at WrestleMania 28, but he challenged his opponent to a rematch a year later. This match not only pitted the two best wrestlers against each other but put the WWE Championship, which the Rock won at Royal Rumble against CM Punk, on the line as well.
It was one of the greatest matches of all time as the two delivered blow after blow but still there was no winner. The Rock hit three Rock Bottom while Cena delivered three AA. In the end, John Cena countered the fourth Rock Bottom to an AA for a memorable triumph. The Rock raised his hands after the match to praise Cena.
2- 16-time world champion
AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match against Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. But the returning John Cena challenged him for the Championship at Royal Rumble.
The match in 2017 between the two provided a great spectacle for the audience. Both fought very hard until they had no energy left. But Cena prevailed in the end to become the 16 time world champion.
3- Victory against Orton in the Iron Man match
Randy Orton remained one of the most fierce rivals of John Cena. Their rivalry was at its peak back in 2009 when they fought for the WWE Championship in three pay-per-views. Orton won in two matches but not in a fair way, while Cena won once.
Cena challenged his rival for a 60-man Iron man match. Orton accepted the challenge on the condition that his opponent should leave Raw if he loses and also the match should be on anything goes rules.
It was an extremely close match as both wrestlers fought until they ran out of gas. The match was tied at 5-5 when Cena pinned Orton after AA through the commentary table. Then, Cena made Orton tap out to go 6-5, thus becoming the WWE Champion for the fifth time in his career.
4- Team WWE vs the NXT
The NXT began targeting WWE superstars on the main roster in 2010, and one of their main targets was John Cena. This triggered the famous wrestler to form “Team WWE” on the road to SummerSlam to take on Nexus in a 7 on 7 Elimination Tag Team Match. Team WWE won in the end as Cena became the lone survivor in the ring.
5- WrestleMania 22 victory
John Cena faced Triple H in the main event of WrestleMania 22 in 2006. It was one of the best matches where the crowd’s sympathies were beginning to turn in favour of Triple H, who fought very well. But Cena applied the STFU submission and Triple H tapped out.
6- Revenge against Big Show
John Cena became really angry with Big Show after he suffered elimination in the Royal Rumble match at the hands of the big man. Cena wanted revenge and so he challenged Big Show at WrestleMania XX.
Cena struck Big Show with Brass Knuckles and also delivered the AA to claim victory. Thus, Cena lifted the United States Championship for the first time in his career.
7- First WWE Championship
At No Way Out, John Cena came up against Kurt Angle. Victory in the match would make him the number one contender for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21. Cena won and headed to WrestleMania for the Championship match with JBL.
Cena didn’t find things easy at WrestleMania 21 as JBL dominated throughout the match. However, despite suffering a lot of blows, Cena won in the end after countering his opponent in the last minute. This way, John Cena picked up his first WWE Championship.
