ROH TV Results – July 20, 2023
Kicking off this week’s ROH with a video package hyping the Pure Title match between Katsuyori Shibata & Daniel Garica at Death Before Dishonor & also we find out who Mark Briscoe’s replacement is in the ROH World Title Match it’s PAC.
Pure Rules Match
Daniel Garica vs. Jason Geiger
Daniel Garcia knocks down Jason Geiger with a shoulder block but waved off his dance to boos. He changed his mind after escaping a headscissors before he dances in Geiger’s face. Geiger got some shots in on Garcia and mocked his dance before catching Garcia in an armbar & that forces Garcia to use his 1st rope break.
Garcia drops Geiger over the ropes with a hotshot to regain control then locks in a front facelock then spun Geiger around then drops into a guillotine submission. Geiger got back to his feet and pulls Garcia over into a suplex.
A strike exchange ends with Geiger getting the upper hand by hitting a suplex for a near fall. Geiger went for a submission but Garcia peppered him with strikes before laying him out with a lariat. Garcia locks Geiger into a Boston Crab but Geiger reversed it into a triangle choke but Garcia escapes and locks in Dragon Tamer & Geiger has to tap out.
Winner By Submission: Daniel Garica
After the match, Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata came to the ring to face off with Garica.
Utami Hayashishita vs. Trish Adora
Trish Adora held onto Utami Hayashishita’s arm early on by sneaking in a La Magistral cradle for a near fall then Adora twists Hayashishita in a submission hold but she escapes and hits a sliding lariat for a near fall then Hayashishita struggles with a body slam attempt due to the arm work but got it for a near fall.
Adora landed body shots but Hayashishita scored with forearms to the face that knocked Adora down then they traded waist locks until Adora snatched the arm and hits an overhead kick to it.
Adora went for the Lariat Tubman but Hayashishita ducks and hits a set of German Suplexes for a near fall. Hayashishita went for an Air Raid Crash but Adora locks on a wrist lock that forces Hayashishita to the ropes.
Adora fired up by landing a pump kick and a senton for a near fall then hits the kneeling German suplex for a near fall. Hayashishita follows Adora off the ropes and hits a lariat. Hayashishita hit a twisting Torture Rack Bomb for a near fall then hit a spinning Razor’s Edge to score the win.
Winner: Utami Hayashishita
Finals Of The Television Title #1 Contenders Tournament
Dalton Castle vs. Shane Taylor
Dalton Castle tries to get Shane Taylor with a single leg takedown but Taylor kept warding him off. Castle caught Taylor with a flurry that ends with a DDT that sent Taylor to the floor.
Taylor caught Castle by the feet and dropped him to the floor with Tower Of London then Castle got back in the ring but quickly got taken down with a sidewalk slam for a near fall.
Taylor works on Castle’s back before dropping him with a headbutt. Taylor follows up with a pull up uranage and a big splash for a near fall. Taylor locks in a sleeper hold but Castle escaped it with a roll up attempt before low bridging Taylor to the floor.
Castle caught Taylor with a hurricanrana on the floor. Castle avoided a corner charge and fought back with strikes, but Taylor caught Castle with a body shot that took him down.
Castle caught Taylor with an overhead suplex before hitting a bulldog for a near fall as Taylor used a rope break to land a cheap shot punch but Taylor came back with a stalling German suplex before hitting Bang A Rang to get the win.

Pure Rules Match
Josh Woods vs. James Stone
Woods controls the early portion of this match by forcing James Stone to use his 1st rope break early on. Woods locks in a Gorilla Lock to force Stone to use his 2nd rope break Woods hit a knee then connects with Anarchist Suplex for the win.
Winner: Josh Woods
In a video from last week Tony Khan announces the Women’s Title match for Death Before Dishonor & Willow Nightingale noted that she’s got experience with big title matches at this point, and that she’s going to win the title.
In video from earlier today Women’s Champion Athena complains to the Board Of Directors but Tony Khan made it clear that the Women’s Title match was on.
Proving Ground Match
Women’s Champion Athena vs. Nikita
Match starts off with Nikita piefaces Athena before Athena hits a forearm for the win.
Winner: Women’s Champion Athena
After the match Athena then beat down Nikita by booting her across the ring and sending her into the barricades before Willow Nightingale came out to face off with her.
Tag Team Match
The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) vs. The Boys (Brandon Tate & Brent Tate)
Dutch blindsided The Boys to start the match before The Righteous double teams Brandon Tate until slipping out to make a tag to Brent Tate. Brent tries to knock down Dutch but Dutch hit a body block to cuts him off. Vincent tags in & hits Autumn Sunshine for the win.
Winners: The Righteous
After the match Vincent talks to the camera to send a message to the Dark Order but Evil Uno came out with a chair. Grayson was fired up by hitting a backbreaker on Brent.
Leyla Hirsch vs. Nicole Matthews
Leyla Hirsch & Nicole Matthews work on each other on the mat before Matthews got the upper hand with Hirsch quickly forcing her into the corner to cut her off. Hirsch took Matthews down before hitting elbows to the back of the neck.
Matthews hit a neckbreaker and fired up with forearms but Hirsch brought Matthews down and hits a knee strike for the win.
Winner: Leyla Hirsch
We then got video packages for the Fatal 4 Way ROH World Tag Team Titles match and the ROH World Title match.
Fatal 4 Way Tag Team Match
The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) vs. The Bollywood Boyz (Gurv Sihra & Harv Sihra) vs. The Workhorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) vs. Action Andretti & Darius Martin
JD Drake & Mike Bennett starts this match off with a chop exchange before Bennett went low with a dropkick leading to a tag exchange that ends with Action Andretti & Darius Martin running wild on The Workhorsemen.
The Workhorsemen hit an assisted powerbomb on Martin for a near fall before isolating Martin. Bennett tags in & that leads to a tag team flurry from The Kingdom on Martin. Taven hits Just The Tip on Martin then goes for the cover but Drake broke up.
Martin hit a tornado DDT/death drop combo to escape The Kingdom but Henry hits a high kick on Martin to cut him off. Henry locks Martin in the corner by hitting a combo then goes for the cover but Taven breaks it up. The Kingdom & The Workhorsemen fought each other with Andretti hitting a dive on both teams.
Martin tagged in Gurv Sihra & he ran wild on Bennett before The Bollywood Boys ran wild, landing superkicks on everyone. They hit the Demolition Decapitation on Bennett then foes for the cover but Andretti broke up with a Shooting Star Press.
All 4 Teams brawl that ends with The Kingdom hitting Proton Pack to score the win.
