ROH TV Results – December 21, 2023
Kicking off this week’s ROH with a recap of Final Battle.
Women’s Champion Athena brags about her win with Lexy Nair & she wasn’t happy with Nair’s hesitation at handing her the Women’s Title at Final Battle and would take it out on Maya World.
JD Drake ran down Texas and Texas wrestling, saying that they would prove that Texas wrestling was trash.
Tag Team Match
The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) vs. The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross)
JD Drake & Ross Von Erich starts this match off with Drake dropkicking Ross into a tag to Anthony Henry & walks into an arm drag. Marshall Von Erich tags in and took Henry down with a dropkick.
After a double dropkick to Henry then Ross got forced to the floor where Drake hits him with a punch.
The Workhorsemen hits a double team on Ross before mocking the claw to Kevin Von Erich’s face on the outside.
Ross moved out of the way of a big Drake splash before tagging Marshall & he ran wild on Henry. Henry tried to cut him off with a kick but Marshall came back with a spinebuster for a near fall.
Henry slid away to tag Drake & he lands a belly 2 belly on Henry. Drake went for a Vader Bomb but Marshall moved and locked on the claw.
Henry tags in and cuts off The Claw with a double stomp then The Workhorsemen hits 9-5 on Marshall then goes for the cover but Ross broke the pin.
After Ross drops Henry on the floor with a Slingblade but Marshall moves out of the way of a moonsault from Drake so Marshall hits a moonsault of his own to score the win.
Winners: The Von Erichs
After the match Henry attacks Marshall & Ross before Kevin caught him with The Claw. Marshall & Ross dropkicks him out of the ring and celebrated with their father.
We got a recap of Kyle Fletcher’s Television Title win in the Survival Of The Fittest match at Final Battle.
Proving Ground Match
Women’s Champion Athena vs. Maya World
Maya World got a lot of offense in on Athena before scoring a near fall with a snap Falcon Arrow.
Athena moves out of the way of a split legged moonsault and hits O Face for the win.
Winner: Women’s Champion Athena (5:19)
After the match Athena raised World’s arm before dropping her with a forearm.
Tony Khan came to the stage to make an announcement & he introduced the Women’s Television Title.
Dante Martin vs. Lee Johnson
Dante Martin & Lee Johnson wrestled to a stalemate to start, trading arm drags until Martin caught Johnson with a superkick for a near fall.
Johnson came back with a dropkick before taking Martin down with a suplex.
Johnson hits a pair of clotheslines before both men booted each other down.
Martin evaded Johnson in the corner before hitting a big crossbody that sent Johnson to the floor.
Martin follows Johnson out with a dive but as soon as Martin threw Johnson into the ring before Johnson came back with a dive of his own.
In the ring Martin tried to evade Johnson but Johnson caught him off of a springboard with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Martin flips Johnson inside out with a reverse gutwrench throw.
Martin hits an elevated knee strike on Johnson but Johnson moved out of the way of a double stomp and hits an offensive flurry ending with a standing moonsault for a near fall.
Johnson reversed a half nelson slam into a roll up but Martin kicks out and hits a half nelson slam to score the win.
Winner: Dante Martin
We got a video from Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky from after Final Battle. Page felt great after beating Tony Nese. He admitted that he didn’t really believe in his own words until recently because now he’s truly confident in himself unlike a lot of people in the promotion. Scorpio Sky thanks Page for having his back through his TNT Title reign and was here to help Page fulfill his promise to his daughter to become a champion.
Tag Team Match
6 Man Tag Team Champions Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs. Blake Christian & Willie Mack
Bishop Kaun starts with Blake Christian by tossing him down with ease before Christian hits Kaun with a dropkick before side stepping him to the floor.
After a Toa Liona interjection Kaun dumps Christian into the announce table and the ring post.
Liona tags in and sends Christian into the barricade before clobbering on him in the ring.
Christian slid out of a Kaun suplex to tag out to Willie Mack & he ran wild & sets up a cannonball but Kaun powers up into a shotgun dropkick.
Both men made tags and Christian sends Liona to the apron before sending Kaun to the floor again. Liona got in his way again but this time Christian dove through Liona’s legs to dive onto Kaun.
Christian hits a Fosbury Flop onto Kaun but Liona caught Christian on another dive before spinning him out into a uranage.
Mack saves Christian from a Fall From Heaven but took a Pounce from Liona for his troubles.
Christian tried to fight 2 on 1 but after Kaun cut off a springboard with a dropkick before Gates Of Agony hits Fall From Heaven for the win.
Winners: 6 Man Tag Team Champions Gates Of Agony
Tony Nese & Mark Sterling were tending to their wounds after Final Battle. Nese & Sterling passed the blame around for Nese’s loss with Sterling noting that he had a plan to stack the deck in their favor for the future.
6 Man Tag Team Match
Iron Savages (Jacked Jameson, Bronson & Boulder) vs. The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) & Lance Archer
Iron Savages got a short advantage over Vincent before some double team from The Righteous saw them isolate Bronson then Lance Archer tags in and hits Bronson with a shoulder block.
Bronson fought to the corner and tags in Boulder & he ran wild. Dutch took down Boulder with a Black Hole Slam then hits Bronson with Black Out.
Jameson tags in while Archer set up the move but Vincent hits Jameson with Autumn Sunshine to get the win.
Winners: The Righteous & Lance Archer
Cole Karter, Griff Garrison & Maria were backstage. Maria felt like her song motivated them to victory last week and signed them for an 8 Man Tag Team match & Garrison & Karter weren’t happy with their partners Spanish Announce Project.
Taya Valkyrie vs. Vert Vixen
Vert Vixen hits Taya Valkyrie with forearms before backing off and they lock up then Vert Vixen sends Valkyrie to the floor with a dropkick before Johnny TV interjects.
Allowing Valkyrie to dump her on the apron with an electric chair drop then Valkyrie hits Meteora in the corner for a near fall.
Vert Vixen made a short comeback before Valkyrie ties her up in an STF but Vert Vixen got to the ropes before hitting a springboard kick for a near fall.
Valkyrie recovers and drops Vert Vixen with a Butterfly Drop follow by Curb Stomp to get the win.
Winner: Taya Valkyrie
Shane Taylor Promotions were backstage & both men were frustrated after their losses at Final Battle with Lee Moriarty feeling like he had hit a plateau. Moriarty decided to let it motivate him as Shane Taylor warns everyone that they couldn’t stop Shane Taylor Promotions.
Rachael Ellering vs. Charlette Renegade
Rachael Ellering held firm control of Charlette Renegade to start this match until she got poked in the eye.
Renegade hits Perfect Plex on Ellering for a near fall before locking in a Muta Lock.
Ellering fought out and hits a pair of spinning elbows and a running senton. Ellering hits a cross legged suplex for a near fall before Renegade hits a spinebuster for a near fall.
Robyn Renegade tried to get involved but Leyla Hirsch ran her off on the floor.
Maria once again hooks Ellering’s leg but Ellering fought her off and hits Bosswoman Slam for the win.
Winner: Rachael Ellering
After the match Maria mockingly cheered Ellering as both her & Hirsch complained about Maria’s actions.
Backstage Lexy Nair is with Johnny TV & Taya Valkyrie & Johnny trash talks Dalton Castle saying that he was more of a pigeon than a peacock.
After a recap of his elimination from Survival Of The Fittest Dalton Castle was backstage with Lexy Nair. Castle was despondent at his loss noting that the Ring Of Honor viewers were robbed by Johnny TV & Taya Valkyrie. He said that he would make them both pay.
Triple Threat Tag Team Match
The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) vs. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) vs. Action Andretti & Darius Martin
The Outrunners ends up on the wrong side of both teams with both teams working together to send Turbo Floyd into Truth Magnum in the corner.
Floyd got pinballed between both teams before Magnum pulls Floyd out of the way of a splash from Shawn Dean.
The Outrunners isolated Dean by clubbering him on their side of the ring before Dean crotched Floyd on the ropes.
Carlie Bravo tags in and ran wild on Magnum before hitting a Scissor Kick then goes for a cover but it’s broken up by Darius Martin. Andretti tags Bravo as he went after Martin.
Dean tags Andretti after Andretti hits Bravo with a Spanish Fly and hits Magnum with a splash for a near fall. Boot Camp was interrupted by Magnum with Martin tagging in.
Magnum went for a low blow on Martin but he caught his partner Floyd instead so Andretti hits a running Shooting Star Press on Magnum for the win.
Winners: Action Andretti & Darius Martin
8 Man Tag Team Match
Spanish Announce Project (Serpentico & Angelico), Griff Garrison & Cole Karter vs. The Boys (Brandon Tate & Brent Tate), Dalton Castle & Gravity
Serpentico & Gravity starts this match with Gravity space walking his way to the corner to tag in The Boys & they hit a double team Eat Defeat for a near fall.
Griff Garrison cuts off Brandon Tate from the floor allowing his team to isolate Brandon in their corner.
Brandon fought his way to the corner and tags in Dalton Castle & he ran wild on everyone with suplexes.
Spanish Announce Project, Garrison & Cole Karter quadruple teamed Castle until Castle snuck in a Bang A Rang attempt on Serpentico that knocks down Karter.
Angelico saves Serpentico but Karter starts an argument with them that allows Gravity & The Boys to run in and send them all to the floor.
They hit dives leaving Castle in the ring to hits Garrison with Bang A Rang for the win.
Winners: The Boys, Dalton Castle & Gravity
Tag Team Match
El Hijo Del Vikingo & Komander vs. Gringo Loco & Jack Cartwheel
El Hijo Del Vikingo & Gringo Loco starts this match both men hitting fast paced lucha moves before tagging Jack Cartwheel & Komander in.
Komander & Cartwheel kept the pace up with both men cartwheeling out of each other’s moves until Komander sends Cartwheel to the floor with a rana.
After a double down on the floor Loco evaded Vikingo and hits a dive onto Vikingo & Komander with a dive.
Cartwheel hits a flagpole leg sweep on Komander before vaulting back into the ring with an elbow for a near fall.
Cartwheel & Loco hit an innovative double team with Cartwheel dropkicking Komander’s face while Loco had him in tombstone position. Loco & Cartwheel isolated Komander until he vaulted his way to a tag.
Vikingo sent both men to the floor before diving through Komander’s legs to hit a dive on Cartwheel. Komander then hits a moonsault onto Loco before celebrating with Vikingo.
Cartwheel avoided a frog splash then hits a cartwheeling powerbomb on Komander for a near fall before Vikingo ties Cartwheel in the ropes before hitting a step up guillotine leg drop for a near fall.
Loco tags in and caught Vikingo with a Torture Rack Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Cartwheel hits Sasuke Special to the floor but Vikingo avoids a springboard moonsault.
Komander hit a poisonrana to Cartwheel off of Vikingo’s shoulders before Vikingo hits Meteora in the corner then Komander hits a ropewalk Shooting Star Press for the win.
