AEW Rampage on TNT next Friday will feature a Ring of Honor match.
The ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham and Lee Moriarty will take on The Gates of Agony (Kaun, Toa Liona) of Tully Blanchard Enterprises next week, which was revealed on last night’s Rampage.
After Gresham did a promo on this week’s Rampage, which can be seen below, boasting about being the best technical wrestler in the world, this match was set up. Gresham promised to prove that in the tag team match next week. Additionally, as seen in the video below, Blanchard confronted Gresham and Moriarty backstage in last week’s Rampage episode. Gresham then struck a handshake agreement with Blanchard, which was mentioned in this week’s promo.
Next week’s Rampage will be a part of AEW’s progressive build to ROH’s return to pay-per-view with Death Before Dishonor XXIX on Saturday, July 23, from the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA. Samoa Joe, the ROH World Television Champion, was recently challenged by Jay Lethal.
The first ROH event organized by new owner Tony Khan was ROH Supercard of Honor XV, where Blanchard formed his Tully Blanchard Enterprises stable. Currently, Brian Cage, Kaun, and Liona are in the stable.
Next week’s AEW Rampage will be taped on Wednesday from the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, New York. Stay tuned to PWMania.com for more.
