Rey Fenix Faces Controversial ‘Huge Injustice’ Behind The Scenes

The drama of Rey Fenix’s relationship with AEW continues. The AEW wrestler has not appeared on AEW television since the July 20 episode of AEW Collision. Penta El Zero M’s contract with AEW has expired, leaving him a free agent.

However, AEW is adding injured time to Fenix’s contract, which amounts to nearly a year. The belief is that with heavy interest from WWE, Penta and Rey Fenix of the Lucha Bros. will join WWE when the time comes. The main question is if Penta is going to join WWE before Fenix can legally do so, or whether they would wait until they are both in.

Dr. Chris Featherstone of SportsKeeda, who has broken previous news, wrote on Twitter/X that he received information from an AEW source last month but was waiting for one of the Lucha Bros to speak out publicly. After that, Fenix felt safe sharing the information.

He stated, “The alleged excuse that Tony Khan found out about Lucha Brothers [being] in talks with WWE is ‘fake news,’ and the real reason [will be] revealed.” There had been a report that Khan only tacked on time to Fenix’s deal once there was the claim that the tag team had talks with WWE while under contract with AEW. Also, there is said to be a “real story” behind the situation with Fenix, which is reportedly a “huge injustice.”

Finally, fans shouldn’t be surprised if the tag team discusses the matter openly, believing that once that happens, it’s “going to be ugly.” Fenix commented on the post, calling it the most accurate response he’s seen to news of his status.
