Several NXT stars were promoted to the main roster this year, while others switched between RAW and SmackDown.
As PWMania.com previously reported, major changes will take place leading up to SummerSlam as Triple H ends storylines that Vince McMahon started.
During Friday’s SmackDown, RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, who had been drafted to SmackDown, referred to herself as the SmackDown Women’s Champion after being drafted, despite not holding the SmackDown Women’s Title. Rhea Ripley was also billed as the SmackDown Women’s Champion on the same show after being drafted back to RAW. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it’s widely believed that a title swap, a la what the WWE did with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in 2021, will occur soon.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said there is a lot of chaos within WWE as different things are being told. Meltzer emphasized that Belair and The Street Profits were aware of the brand switch beforehand because Belair had a pre-recorded promo and The Street Profits had new gear made.
“So it’s very clear that like again, people are being told different things that change all the time. It’s not like complete chaos, but there’s a lot of chaos,” Meltzer stated.
