“Red One” Starring The Rock And Chris Evans Sets New Amazon Prime Record

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans star in the holiday action film Red One, which has become a massive success since its release on Amazon Prime Video.

The movie, which debuted on December 12th, achieved an impressive milestone, with Deadline.com reporting that it garnered 50 million worldwide viewers in its first four days on the platform. This accomplishment makes Red One the most-watched Amazon MGM Studios film on Prime Video, surpassing the previous record held by Road House, which reached 50 million global viewers in its first two weekends.

Directed by Jake Kasdan (who previously collaborated with The Rock on Jumanji) and written by Chris Morgan (known for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), the film has drawn significant attention thanks to its star-studded cast and high-octane plot.

In addition to Johnson and Evans, the movie features J.K. Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, and Wesley Kimmel. The film had a reported $200 million budget and performed well in its theatrical run, earning $175 million worldwide during its opening weekend before being available for streaming after a 28-day theater window.

The synopsis reads:

“After Santa Claus – Code Name: RED ONE – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Dwayne Johnson) must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Chris Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.”

Red One combines action, humor, and holiday magic, making it a must-watch for fans of Johnson, Evans, and festive adventure films. With its record-breaking performance, the movie sets a new standard for Amazon Prime Video’s original content.
