WWE has been doing NXT angles with Grayson Waller and Shawn Michaels for the past few weeks. After losing to NXT Champion Bron Breaker in the show’s main event, Waller interrupted Shawn Michaels’ post-Vengeance Day media scrum.
Before Waller’s return, he was kept off television. Waller and Michaels got into a backstage argument this week on NXT TV. As Michaels did with Triple H in DX, it ended with Waller taking control of the production truck. At NXT Roadblock, Waller challenged Michaels to appear on a segment of his talk show, the Grayson Waller Effect, in two weeks.
Fans have been speculating about this storyline’s direction and whether it will cause Shawn Michaels to return for another match.
There has been talk of Michaels introducing top free agent signing Dragon Lee to NXT TV for a match with Waller on his behalf, according to the WRKD Wrestling Twitter account, who previously broke the news of Lita’s recent WWE TV return and the expected return of Trish Stratus.
Roxanne Perez vs. Meiko Satomura for the NXT Women’s Championship and Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak in a Jailhouse Street Fight for Roadblock have already been confirmed by WWE.
As many fans have speculated, the idea of Shawn Michaels forcing Grayson Waller to face off against a debuting Dragon Lee has indeed been discussed.
