Photo: Miro Reunites With Sheamus Amid Rumors Of WWE Comeback

Miro has officially parted ways with AEW after being granted his release on Monday, making him a free agent and allowing him to sign with any promotion. Reports suggest that WWE is interested in bringing him back, as he previously worked for the company before joining AEW in 2020.

Miro had been absent from AEW programming since Worlds End 2023. He initially signed a seven-figure deal with AEW in September 2020, which was originally set to expire in spring 2022. However, he later agreed to a four-year extension, keeping him under contract until spring 2026.

Despite being healthy and ready to compete, Miro was rarely utilized. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, creative plans for Miro were discussed for 2024, but communication reportedly went “radio silent” before his release.

Sources within AEW told Fightful that Miro had not been involved in any major creative discussions for the past six months, and many within the company assumed he would not be returning.

With speculation swirling about a potential WWE return, fans have already taken notice of Miro’s recent reunion with Sheamus, as seen below:

As a free agent, Miro’s next move remains uncertain, but with WWE reportedly interested, a return to his former stomping grounds may not be out of the question.
