As PWMania.com previously reported, Wade Barrett stated that he and Michael Cole will be the permanent WWE Smackdown commentary team for the foreseeable future because Pat McAfee “has a lot on his plate” at the moment.
In response, McAfee issued the following statement to fans, along with a GIF of Steve Austin:
“A lot of wrestling chatter about me right now.. I think about wrestling everyday..that dream isn’t done. My business is currently rather active and exigent…+ baby on the way…timing is everything. I still have MASSIVE plans for my journey to the WWE HOF someday. Believe that.”
WWE announced in July 2022 that McAfee had signed a multi-year contract extension with the company.
