NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3’s opponent for the NWA Samhain pay-per-view in Cleveland, OH, which is just up the road from his hometown, has been revealed.
It was previously announced that EC3 will defend his title in the main event of Samhain for his triumphant return. On Tuesday night’s NWA Powerrr episode, EC3 summoned NWA World Television Champion Thom Latimer for a meeting. EC3 then offered Latimer a title shot at Samhain, but due to the Lucky Seven Rule, Latimer must relinquish the NWA World Television Title. Latimer has successfully defended his title seven times in a row, and he is now eligible to cash in his title for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
Kamille Latimer, Latimer’s wife, confronted EC3 after accusing him of politicking with the boss to secure his current position. Latimer eventually accepted the challenge and stated that he will see EC3 in Cleveland. This appears to be EC3’s first major title defense since becoming champion on August 27 by defeating Tyrus in a Bullrope Match at the NWA 75th Anniversary Show Night Two event. Tyrus was forced to retire as a result of the defeat.
NWA frontman Billy Corgan has promised surprises at Samhain, a Halloween-themed extravaganza. The pay-per-view is billed as “The Ultimate Night of Spooktacular Wrestling Action in Cleveland,” as well as the most “sinister” and “diabolically violent” in NWA history. Samhain will “send chills down your spine and leave you on the edge of your seat.”
The first NWA Samhain pay-per-view event will take place on Saturday, October 28 at the TempleLive Cleveland Masonic in Cleveland, OH. The event will be broadcast live on FITE.
