New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) recently announced that the promotion’s World Tag League and Super Jr. Tag League tournaments are set to begin this fall, with their Super Jr. Tag League tournament running from October 21 to their Power Struggle PPV Event on November 4 and their World Tag League tournament running from November 20 to December 10, the winner of which will earn an opportunity at the IWGP Tag Team Titles at Wrestle Kingdom in January.
There’s no word yet on which teams will be participating in the World Tag League as well as the Super Jr. Tag League tournaments, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
Last year’s NJPW World Tag League tournament saw Bishamon (Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI) defeat Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) in the finals before beating FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) for the IWGP Tag Team Championships at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
