Saturday night’s Maximum Carnage edition of AEW Collision saw reigning AEW Continental Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada defend his title against “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii, with The Rainmaker coming out of the match still the Continental Champion.
Dave Meltzer stated on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that The Stone Pitbull suffered an injury during the match; however, the injury is not considered serious. Ishii appears to have injured his left calf or ankle after Okada hit him with a flapjack in the opening moments of the match.
Meltzer also noted that the injury wasn’t planned nor part of any storyline, and Ishii is fine. The Stone Pitbull, or any wrestler, will not act like any injury is serious. There’s no word yet on whether this will cause Ishii to miss any action, but updates will be provided once they become available.
