On Thursday morning, NJPW president Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenny Omega met and a new video was released, which has gotten fans talking.
The clip is a trailer for a video called “Hiroshi Tanahashi X Kenny Omega Reunion.” It has the “coming soon” tag. This is based on the two’s real-life history, as they have wrestled numerous times, including the Wrestle Kingdom main event in 2019, which would be Omega’s final full-time match as a NJPW star before moving to AEW.
This is where Tanahashi defeated Omega to claim the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. They also used the Wrestle Dynasty hashtag, which could indicate Omega’s participation in the upcoming event, which will take place on January 5, 2025, at the Tokyo Dome. NJPW, CMLL, AEW, ROH, and Stardom will all be represented at the event.
Omega has been out of action since undergoing diverticulitis surgery. Omega was in Japan last week.
