Former 3-time AEW World Champion and 1-time AEW International Champion Jon Moxley was set to face Rey Fenix in a rematch for the AEW International Championship on Tuesday’s Title Tuesday episode of Dynamite, but AEW President and CEO Tony Khan revealed during the Buy-In pre-show that Moxley is not medically cleared to compete on the show due to the injuries he suffered at the Grand Slam special that led to Fenix capturing the title.
Fightful Select reports that the news regarding Moxley not being medically cleared to compete on Dynamite was known early afternoon on Tuesday, just a few hours before the show.
“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, the man Moxley defeated at All Out to win the championship, was then announced as Moxley’s replacement and would go on to become the first-ever two-time AEW International Champion.
