News On AEW’s Sponsorship Deal With SEGA And How It Came Together

According to Fightful Select, AEW and SEGA agreed to terms on a sponsorship deal for the 8-Man Like A Dragon Gaiden Street Fight between the Don Callis Family (“The Machine” Brian Cage, Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs) and the Golden Dragons of Dojima (Paul Wight, “The Ocho” Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi). The match saw the babyfaces pick up the huge win with everyone being happy about how the match played out.

It was mentioned on the report that the sponsorship deal was in the six-figure range and Omega played a huge role in helping secure the deal, which had been in the works for weeks thanks to AEW’s Nik Sobic.

The actual sponsorship was reportedly tied to the Yakuza spinoff game called Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and the street fight on Dynamite featured several references to the game.
