NWA (the National Wrestling Alliance) announced that the fourth-annual Burke Invitational Gauntlet is set to return at their NWA 76 event, which will take place on Saturday, August 31st in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Natalia Markova and Lili “La Pescadita” Ruiz will be participating in the match.

Natalia Markova and Lili “La Pescadita” Ruiz are headed to Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena!
Both Markova and Ruiz are confirmed for the Burke Invitational Gauntlet. Now in its fourth year, the multi-competitor match crowns a new No. 1 contender to the National Wrestling Alliance Women’s World title on Aug. 31 in Philadelphia.
“Nobody wants a shot at the championship more than I do,” declares Markova, who recently signed an exclusive NWA contract.

That changes Aug. 31 at NWA 76, Markova says. She emphatically believes her road to redemption begins in Philadelphia.
“At NWA 76, I will win the Burke Invitational to get one more shot at the title,” vows a confident Markova, “And then I will finally prove I am the best in the world and become the NWA Women’s World champion!”
Markova’s path to the gold could have numerous speed bumps, though, not the least of which is spunky NWA newcomer Lili “La Pescadita.” Arriving by way of NWA-Chicago, the Latina sensation is a nationally-ranked powerlifter who’s cut her teeth against the top stars of the Midwest.
“NWA 76 gives ‘La Pescadita’ a chance to show global audiences what NWA-Chicago fans already know,” says NWA Chief Operating Officer Joe Galli. “Lili Ruiz has a very bright future — and it could start Aug. 31 in Philadelphia!”
Introduced in 2021, the exciting, multi-competitor Burke Invitational Gauntlet sees eliminations via pinfall, submission or by being tossed over the top rope. Past winners include Chelsea Green, Max the Impaler and, most recently, reigning NWA Women’s World champion Kenzie Paige.
The Burke Invitational also includes “La Princesa” Tiffany Nieves and newcomer Mystii Marks. Multi-time OVW Women’s Champion and star of Netflix series The Wrestlers “HollyHood” Haley J returns at NWA 76 to participate. Bodybuilder and former AEW competitor Kayla Rossi makes her NWA debut in the match. Additional entrants are still to be announced..
NWA 76 brings hard-hitting pro wrestling action to Philly’s legendary 2300 Arena on August 31. The National Wrestling Alliance commemorates “History, Legacy and Tradition” with its biggest Signature Live Event of the year, an affordable, family-friendly celebration of its founding in 1948.
