MJF posted an interesting message on Twitter about his belief that he can lead AEW out of the darkness that has engulfed the promotion for the majority of 2022, including injuries, arrests, suspensions, and backstage drama.
Top stars have been sidelined due to injuries this year, while others have been suspended for backstage brawls. AEW suspended Jeff Hardy after he was arrested for DUI. Following the All Out scrum, The Elite and CM Punk got into a brawl. Despite the difficulties, stars such as Chris Jericho, Bryan Danielson, and Jon Moxley have stepped up to serve as locker room leaders.
On Twitter, MJF, who will face Jon Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Title this Saturday at Full Gear, wrote:
“There’s been a shadow casted over AEW by a bunch of f*cking bullsh*t. We are closer then ever to stepping out of the darkness and into the light. We have the roster. We have the platform. Now all we need is stability, change, and leadership. We need the Devil. I’m ready.”
When MJF first returned to AEW All Out, he had his sights set on CM Punk, with whom he had a staredown after Punk won the World Championship in the main event. However, the backstage brawl overshadowed his moment and forced him to change his plans.
There’s been a shadow casted over AEW by a bunch of fucking bullshit.
We are closer then ever to stepping out of the darkness and into the light. We have the roster. We have the platform. Now all we need is stability, change, and leadership.
We need the Devil.
