Indie star Michael Oku recently spoke with Mark O’Brien of WrestleMobs on a number of topics including possibly appearing at AEW All In.
Oku said, “That’s what I want to do. I would love to try my best to be in a better position if I do turn up. Just so I could measure, so it’s a way that I can measure that I’m going in an upward trajectory. When I was on Mark Andrews’s podcast, they were like, ‘What’s your prediction for the next year?’ My prediction was to wrestle in front of more than 10,000 people because that’s how I’d measure that I’m going in an upward trajectory. So the same thing for All In. I wouldn’t want to just be security again because then it’d feel like I haven’t really gone anywhere, at least in the eyes of those who are in charge of AEW. I think I’ve already done enough, but my goal is to make sure that it wouldn’t make sense if Michael Oku was a security guard.”
On AEW’s Cardiff taping:
“We talk about Chris Jericho, when I was in his podcast, AEW announced that they were doing to do a show in the UK. I think it was London. Nobody knew what the venue was gonna be, so most people were probably assuming that they’re coming down to do a Dynamite and Collision taping, and he said, ‘Oh, guaranteed, you’ll be on the show. You’ll wrestle, guaranteed.’ Because he assumed it’d be that. Well, they are doing a Dynamite and Collision taping in Wales. So nothing is confirmed, but I feel like if UK wrestlers are gonna be on that show wrestling, I feel like I should be one of them.”
