Mercedes Mone Takes Shot At WWE While Discussing AEW’s Future Signings

Mercedes Moné didn’t hold back when responding to a fan during a recent Twitter Q&A, taking a subtle jab at WWE’s growing trend of signing former AEW talent.

In recent years, WWE has brought in several ex-AEW stars, including Jade Cargill, Ricky Starks, Lexis King, and Ethan Page. The most notable acquisition, of course, was Cody Rhodes, who co-founded AEW before making his triumphant return to WWE. Meanwhile, recently released talents like Miro and Malakai Black—both former WWE stars—are now free agents, further fueling speculation that they could be next to make the jump.

During her Q&A, Moné was asked which wrestlers she would like to see AEW recruit next. She responded with a cryptic but pointed remark:

“If I listed the people I wanted in AEW The other place would sign them 🍵 #aewceo #AEWGrandSlam.”

The comment suggests that Moné believes WWE keeps an eye on AEW’s potential targets, possibly swooping in before Tony Khan can sign them.

Moné is set to defend her TBS Championship this Saturday at Grand Slam: Australia, where she will face Harley Cameron.

With speculation surrounding talent movement between AEW and WWE, Moné’s comment adds fuel to an already ongoing discussion.
