Mercedes Moné is set for NJPW Resurgence.

As PWMania.com previously reported, Moné lost the IWGP Women’s Title to Mayu Iwatani at the Stardom All Star Grand Queendom event on Sunday in Yokohama, Japan. Moné gave a post-show press conference promo, stating that the next stop on her world tour will be NJPW Resurgence on May 21 in Long Beach, California, referring to her cousin, Celebrity WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg. Full details from Sunday can be found by clicking here.

In an update, NJPW has now officially announced Moné for the Resurgence event on Sunday, May 21 at the Long Beach Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA. She can be seen on the Resurgence poster below.

Moné responded to the announcement by mentioning Cousin Snoop once more, writing, “Get ready to roll up a nice BIG one! [fire emoji] [money mouth face emoji] #Moné #njresurgence”

Moné’s title loss occurred just hours after it was announced that she had signed a new contract extension with NJPW/Stardom parent company Bushiroad.

As of this writing, the only match announced for Resurgence is Will Ospreay vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi in the tournament’s semi-finals to determine a new #1 contender to IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega. Because of Tanahashi’s rib injury, the match is in jeopardy. The winner of Ospreay vs. Tanahashi will face Lance Archer in the finals at NJPW Dominion on Sunday, June 4 in Osaka, Japan. The tournament winner is expected to face Omega on Sunday, June 25 at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in Toronto, Canada.
