Matt Riddle Recalls Being Ignored Backstage By Bret Hart In WWE

Former WWE star Matt Riddle spoke with Sportskeeda about a number of pro wrestling-related topics, including running into WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart at a company event and being ignored.

Riddle said, “So I’m at catering. I’m enjoying it, and I get a table with Bret Hart, and I’m like, oh, this is cool. I’m not going to be a super marketer, but I’m going to ask a couple questions to the Hitman. Bret wouldn’t even respond to me or my friend Damian Priest at the time, because we were sitting next to some pretty attractive ladies, and I asked them about their work rate, this, that, and the other thing, how many years, you know, didn’t ask me or Priest a single question, you know, we didn’t talk.”

On Hart’s issues with Goldberg:

“I don’t know about him not being able to let go of this whole Goldberg thing. Goldberg’s come out and said, It wasn’t intentional. I never would have done it. Well, it’s not a matter of intentions. Honestly, I think that’s one of Bret’s flaws. You know? Because honestly, I can hold a grudge against a lot of people. Especially, you know, the shit people. The things people have said about me that are lies and everything else. I just… What am I supposed to do? Complain? Get out of my soapbox and preach about it? I don’t care. The cream always rises to the top. I’ll just keep working hard and doing the right thing.”
