TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy appeared on an episode of his “Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast and discussed several topics, including TNA World Champion Joe Hendry being in the WWE Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Hardy said, “Super happy for Joe. I saw the interview he did too with Ariel [Helwani], and I love the fact that he said he went back and talked to these guys, and he even said he told [John] Cena, like he’s trying to manifest this match with him. And he said everybody was good and they were trying to help him, and just super professional. So I just love hearing that, man. I love that he had a great experience there. I’ve had a great experience with him. I enjoy him so much as a human being, and I think he is just so positive and so optimistic, and I think we really bond because of a lot of those factors. And the fact that he — Chris Jericho asked him in this interview, he said Chris had asked him to do his cruise and he said, ‘No, I don’t want to. I’m going to put myself in Indianapolis, just because I believe this could happen, and I want to be there. I don’t want to take any chances and put myself anywhere else. I want to be in Indianapolis because I believe this can happen.’ And lo and behold, it happened. So it’s great. We were both super busy. I know, the very first day on Friday at WrestleCon, the last acts left standing were Joe Hendry and the Hardys. Both are TNA acts, which I like to throw in, it’s very good on TNA, right? But so happy for Joe when he came out and everybody knew his music. They were vibing to it, they were playing and singing along. And he came out and he looked like a really big star. So, so good for him, man. What a great rub for Joe Hendry.”
On Chad Gable:
“I think Chad Chad Gable is extremely talented. He’s a good employee, a good dude, easy to work with, and down for whatever. So yeah, I would love to see him get a strong, long-term push and really utilized in the best way possible. I think he deserves it.”
