During an interview with TMZ.com, Mark Henry talked about Braun Strowman possibly signing with AEW. Henry noted that there is “interest on both sides” but they won’t have a serious conversation until Strowman’s 90-day WWE non-compete clause is close to expiring…
“Super high on my list. It’s not an all Mark Henry decision, but there’s already interest on both sides. Hopefully, by the time he’s allowed to wrestle in August, I think the middle of August, then we could have a serious conversation about contractual things of that nature but right now there’s interest on both sides.”
In a 2018 appearance on Busted Open Radio, Strowman talked about Henry’s role in getting him signed with WWE…
“Truth be told, I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Mark Henry. I traveled around the world doing strongman competitions. That’s the first time I met Mark, back in 2010 when I competed as an amateur. I introduced myself and said I’ve always been a fan of his in WWE and what he’s done in the strength sports world. We sparked a friendship from there and he pretty much turned WWE’s eyes on me. Low and behold, here we are today.”
